Adrian J Fischer

Adrian "A.J." Fischer, 83, Bismarck, passed away April 13, 2012, in a Bismarck Care Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 am Thursday, April 19, at Church of St. Anne, Bismarck, with the Rev. Ed Wehner officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Bismarck. Visitation will be held from 4:30 pm until 9:00 pm Wednesday, April 18, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a rosary/vigil service will begin at 8:00 pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Adrian was born January 20, 1929, at Hazelton, ND, to Wendelin and Margaret Lipp Fischer. He was raised near Hazelton, ND, and educated at a country school until age 11. The family then moved to rural Bismarck where he attended St. Mary's Grade School and St. Mary's High School. Adrian married Helen Silbernagel, his high school sweetheart, in 1949. He was a member of the Eagles, Elks Lodge, and Moose Club. While working with his father, Wendelin, he learned the electrical trade and many other skills. He then bought a backhoe and went into business for himself. He modernized many area Farmstead's with water wells, indoor water and plumbing, and electrification systems. He worked as an electrician on many projects in the area, including the missile sites and power plants. He then returned to the excavating business where eventually Fischer Contracting, Inc. was formed with his son, which specializes in burying underground utilities. He retired in 1994. He truly enjoyed spending time with his family at various family gatherings. Another favorite was working together with his friends on different projects. He especially liked working on his antique tractors and it showed by his collection. He was best known for his ability to repair about anything and tinkering at his favorite place in the world, a 40 acre hobby farm NE of Bismarck. Adrian is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Helen; his son, Neal Lyn, Bismarck; his four daughters, Dayta Bob Berger, Mandan, Jeanne Ron Krein, Mandan, Nancy Johnny Buck, Phoenix, AZ, and Melissa, Bismarck; his grandchildren, Kathy Tim Zander, Robbie Dani Fischer, Jeff Cheri Berger, Lance Berger, Crystal Berger, Ryan Melissa Stuart, Tyler Buck, Caleb Buck, Tatum Buck; his great-grandchildren, Aiden "A.J." Zander, Noah and Hannah Fischer, Brady Berger and Gabriella Thomas, Kyler Fiest, and Blake Stuart. He is also survived by five brothers and five sisters, Edmund Delores Fischer, Littleton, CO, Irene Kub, St. Cloud, MN, Alice Schlener, Post Falls, ID, Clarence Wanda Fischer, Bismarck, Melvin Kathy Fischer, Stanton, ND, Helen Larry Yetter, Littleton, CO, Richard Delores Fischer, Bismarck, Claudette Doppler, Bismarck, Margo Art Owens, Mandan, and Gary Fischer, Salt Lake City, UT. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant sister; three brothers-in-law, Ettienne Doppler, Al Kub, and Frank Schlener; his sister-in-law, Monica Fischer; and his nephew, Jeff.
