Anna Silbernagel Nolz

Anna Silbernagel Nolz, 87, Bismarck, died September 18, 2008. Services will be held at 10:00 am Monday at Church of the Ascension, Bismarck, with Rev. Marvin Klemmer officiating. Burial will be at 3:00 pm, Monday, in St. John’s Cemetery, Zeeland, ND. Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm Sunday at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, with a prayer service beginning at 4:00 pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church. Anna Schaffner was born March 31, 1921, in Leola, SD, the daughter of Andrew and Marion Frank Schaffner. She grew-up and attended school near Leola. On June 3, 1940, she married Frank C. Silbernagel. They farmed near Zeeland on the family homestead. On February 16, 1968, Frank passed away. On June 10, 1969, she married Leo Nolz. They made their home in Zeeland until moving to Bismarck in 1998. Anna enjoyed flowers, gardening, watching birds, baking and canning, sewing, listening to Polkas and playing cards with her family and friends. She was a talented self taught artist and she had many beautiful drawings. She is survived by fifteen children; sons, Frank and Dorothy Silbernagel, Kent, WA, Dan and Jackie Silbernagel, Bismarck, ND, Joe and Phyllis Silbernagel, Bismarck, ND, Ron and Janet Silbernagel, Fargo, ND, Leo and Gloria Silbernagel, Bismarck, ND, Larry and Kathy Silbernagel, Mandan, ND, Dave and Renae Silbernagel, Moffit, ND, Quentin and Keri Silbernagel, Roy, WA, daughters, Mary Ann and Bob Volk, Herreid, SD, Jane and Tim Heier, Hague, ND, Betty and Tom Brandner, Heber City, UT, Angie and Randy Levi, Hettinger, ND, Bernie and Dave Levi, Bismarck, ND, Rita and John Pfeifer, Bismarck, ND, and Sue and Wayne Materi, Bismarck, ND; one sister, Agnes Klein, Aberdeen, SD, one brother, Adam Schaffner, Coeur d’Alene, ID and 55 grandchildren and 73 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Frank Silbernagel and Leo Nolz; her son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Betty Silbernagel; daughter-in-law, Elaine Silbernagel; four grandchildren; and brothers and sisters, Regina, Kathryn, John, Joe, Tony, Margaret, Mike, Marie and Felix.
