Carl Zeller

Carl E. Zeller, 82, Bismarck, passed away July 23, 2008 at Medcenter One Hospital surrounded by his family. Services will be held at 10:30 am Saturday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Bismarck with Rev. Jeff Tengesdal and Pastor Craig Schweitzer officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck. Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until 9:00 pm Friday at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck and will continue one hour prior to services at the church. Carl was born November 24, 1925, at Elgin, ND, the son of Henry and Leontina Mueller Zeller and was raised at Leith, ND. He was baptized at Elgin and confirmed in Leith. Carl married Adeline Arndt on June 23, 1946, at Leith and moved to Bismarck in 1953. Carl farmed with his father and ran the motion projector for the Leith Opera House. Carl became a licensed Master Electrician and enjoyed a lifetime career as a Radio and Television Engineer. He was employed by Meyer Broadcasting Company, Bismarck from 1953 – 1993. He graduated from the National Radio and Television Institute of Washington D.C. in 1944. Carl held an Amateur Radio license and was a charter member of the National Society of Broadcast Engineers and National Society of Cable Television Engineers. Carl and Adeline enjoyed winters in Mesa, AZ, for 17 years after retiring and returned to Bismarck full time in 2005. Carl was a great conversationalist and enjoyed his family and friends. Hobbies included National Amateur Radio, WøJOM 1948-1978. He also enjoyed golfing and more recently, genealogy. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Adeline of Bismarck; six sons, Newell Linda and Bob all of Hazen, Randy Carla, Alan, Ryan Deb Eggebrecht all of Bismarck and Daryl Diane of Mandan; nine grandchildren, Kristi Zeller Rodney Jaeger of Washburn, Bill Zeller of Bozeman, MT, Suzy Zeller Jason Klein of Silverthorne, CO, Michael Zeller Sarah of Greeley, CO, Michael Eggebrecht Jennifer of Bismarck, Allison Zeller fiancé, Kurt of Beulah, Chris Zeller of Hazen and Wade and Wyatt Zeller of Mandan and six great-grandchildren, Jacob and Hunter Oberlander, MadeLynn Jaeger, Dylan Klein and Logan and Shelby Zeller, two brothers, Donald Bonnie Zeller of Carson, ND, Douglas Alice Zeller of Prescott Valley, AZ, two sisters Marilyn Swenson of Fargo, ND, and Charlotte Paul McCalla of Columbus, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Leontina; one grandson, Dustin Eggebrecht and three brothers, Clifford, Norman and Melvin.
