Dorothy Stiles

Dorothy M. Stiles, 95, Bismarck, died on March 15, 2008, at her home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at Church of the Ascension in Bismarck with Rev. Marvin Klemmer officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 - 9:00 PM at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a prayer service will be held at 6:30 PM. Visitation will continue on Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the church. There will also be visitation on Thursday from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM at Schriver Funeral Home in Aberdeen. Burial will follow visitation at Riverside Memorial Cemetery in Aberdeen. Dorothy was born on November 16, 1912, in Fort Yates, ND, the daughter of Evrett and Lyda Snetsinger Euneau. She attended school in Fort Yates, Belcourt, and Cheyenne River Agency. Dorothy married John Stiles on June 6, 1931, in Selby, SD. They lived in Cannon Ball and Fort Yates, retired, and then moved to Aberdeen. She was active in the community. Dorothy served on several boards and was a very busy homemaker. She was a member of ARC, Legion Auxiliary, Catholic Daughters, Welcome Wagon, and other organizations. Dorothy and Debbie moved to Bismarck in 1997. Dorothy was an avid bridge player and shopper. She enjoyed ceramics, bowling, card games, and especially spending time with her family. Her sense of humor was far reaching and she shared many fun stories. She was well known for her generosity and compassion. She touched the lives of many people and she will be greatly missed by all of those that knew her. Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Evretta Plumspecial friend, Leo of Mandan, ND, Betta Archambault of Bismarck, Diane Claymore of Bismarck, Irene Darrell Bender of Mobridge, SD, Johnelle Martin Opem of New Hope, MN, Sherri Byron Stiles-Imker of Sioux Falls, SD, and Debbie Stiles of Bismarck; 25 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren a very special great-granddaughter, McKenna Marie Claymore; her sister, Edithe "Dolly" Miller of West Columbia, TX; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Alberta "Sis" Berry of Idaho Falls, ID, Audrey Euneau of Aberdeen, SD, Ralph Stiles of Aberdeen, and Charles and Olive Stiles of Rocky River, OH; special family friend, John Thomas of Bismarck; and two special cats, Patsy Lou and Suzy Q. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brother, Howard "Bud"; her sisters, Margaret Houk, Ida Mae Gibson, Mary Lou Sherwood, and Jean Euneau; her sons-in-law, Gordon Plum, Jim Archambault, and Gernell Claymore; her brothers-in-law, Gene Berry, Walter Houk, Bill Gibson, Don Sherwood, and Byrle Miller; and her sister-in-law, Kate Stiles.
