Eric Dienert

Eric Jason Dienert, 40, passed away October 28, 2013, at home surrounded by his family after a short but mighty battle with brain cancer. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, November 2, at United Church of Christ, 1200 E Highland Acres Rd, Bismarck. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Bismarck. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 pm Friday, November 1, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck. Eric was born December 22, 1972, in Aberdeen, SD, to Ervin Dienert and Mavis Huizenga Dutt. He was raised in Bismarck and attended Highland Acres, Hughes Jr. High, and graduated from Bismarck High in 1991. Eric was enlisted in the Army Reserve from 1991-1995. During his enlistment Eric as able to spend time serving in Panama. Eric attended Interstate Business College graduating in 1997 with honors. Eric had a passion for electronics, he loved anything he could take apart and "try" to put back together. At the time of his death Eric was employed at Aetna as a Computer Support Specialist. Eric met his wife Kursten Schreiner in 1994; it was love at first sight. They were married October 28, 1995. They were married 18 years to the day. Together they were blessed with three children, Christian, Kaily, and Taylor. Eric's pride and joy were his children. He loved watching Christian play football and wrestle, listen to Kaily tell stories about Triangle Y camp, or try to keep up with Taylor's next adventure. Eric never missed a moment! Along with his passion for computers Eric enjoyed camping, fishing, or any other activity that allowed him to spend time with his wife and kids. Eric also loved to ride his Harley and in 2009 he became a member of the Freedom Riders Motorcycle Club, here is where Eric found his "home". Eric was able to combine all his passions, riding, camping, and family. Eric will be remembered for his quick wit, his caring nature, and in the words of his daughter, someone who loved life and his family more than anything. Eric is survived by his wife, Kursten; his son, Christian; his daughters, Kaily and Taylor; his parents, Ervin Dienert and Mavis Marv Dutt; his stepmother, Angela Mitchel; his brother, Jesse Dienert; sister, Melissa Dennis Bauer; his in-laws, Lance Laurie Kirby Schreiner and Phyllis Schreiner; sister-in-law, Delayne Michael Ballard; his maternal grandmother, Dorothy Huizenga ; his grandmother-in-law, Yvonne Schreiner; his nieces, Isabela Bauer and Lauren Ballard; his nephews, Zackary Bauer and Alexander Ballard; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Eric is also survived by all his FRMC family. Eric was preceded in death by his brother-in –law, Kurt Schreiner; his paternal grandparents, Herman and Esther Dienert; and his maternal grandfather, Clarence Huizenga. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials for an account for Eric's children.
