George Jahner

George Jahner, 88, Bismarck, ND, died November 11, 2008, at the home of his son in Fairhope, AL. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 am Saturday at Church of St. Anne, Bismarck, with Rev. Ed Wehner officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Monday at North Dakota Veteran’s Cemetery, Mandan. Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm Friday at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, with a rosary and time of sharing beginning at 6:00 pm with Rev. Tom Richter officiating. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. George was born January 29, 1920, near Regent, ND, the son of Mike and Margaret Wandler Jahner. He was raised and educated near Regent. George married Sally Greinier in 1948, in Regent, ND. He owned Jahner’s Electric Motors in Bowman, ND, and later went to work for Queen City Electric in Dickinson until his retirement in 1975. Sally died in 1984 in Dickinson. George married Rose Paul in 1986 in Dickinson. They moved to Bismarck in 1996. He was an active member of Church of St. Anne, Knights of Columbus, Disabled American Veterans, VFW, the American Legion, and St. Anthony Club. George is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, George Jr. and Jan Jahner of Fairhope, AL; his grandchildren, Kerri Evan Kaplan of New York, NY, Tara Morales and Jordan Jahner both of Fairhope, AL; his great-grandchildren, Sara, Lily and Mason; his step-children, Charles Linda Paul of Bismarck, ND, and Sharon Dale Greisch of Buffalo, NY; his step grandchildren, Jesse Sarah Paul, Jodi Kip Blotsky, and Timothy Doll of Bismarck, ND, and Tammy Bradford of Sun City, CA; his step great grandchildren, Karsen, Kaleb and Ava; his brother, Simon Bertha Jahner of Regent, ND; four sisters, Pauline Frank of Wilmer, MN, Catherine Don Franchuk of Dickinson, ND, Viola Jim Franchuk of Bismarck, ND, and Dorothy Rodger Nichols of Fargo, ND; and one brother-in-law, John Braun of Wilmer, ND. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sally; his second wife, Rose; his parents; his sister, Leontine Braun; and his brother-in-law, Christ Frank.
