Jane Bartels

Jane C. Bartels, 66, died December 23, 2014, at home in Bismarck. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday, December 27, at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with Rev. Les Wolfgram officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm Friday, December 26, at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Jane was born March 9, 1948, in Bismarck, the daughter of Roy and Helen Wolf Sicble. She attended Bismarck High School through the eleventh grade, and then went on to marry her high school sweetheart, Richard Roberts. They moved to Denver, CO, where they had their two children, Roy and Cheryl. They later divorced and she moved back to Bismarck. On January 24, 1976, she married Dan Bartels, with whom she has spent the rest of her life with. She worked at the Radisson Inn Hotel in Housekeeping and Maintenance for 25 years until she became ill and had to retire. Her hobbies included reading, writing, playing cards, and being with her family among other things. She always put others wants and needs in front of her own, for as long she could. She was very passionate about animals and always donated to different organizations. Her health started to decline in 2008, which eventually led her into a nursing home until November 2014. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Dan Bartels; one daughter, Cheryl Scott Kubas; six grandchildren, Ashley and Aundrea Budeau, Dani, Tyler, Tori and Tiana Roberts and two step grandchildren, Jennifer and Sierra Kubas; two great-grandsons, Tyrel Jr and Ian; four brothers, Butch Sicble, Roger Jean Sicble, Bob Brenda Sicble, and Jeff Sicble; one sister, Deb Doug Kroh; one brother-in-law, Mike Bartels; one sister-in- law, Janice Bartels; along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends. She is also survived by, Anna Roberts, who was like a daughter to Jane, along with her two children, Blake and Camdyn Roberts. She was preceded in death by her son, Roy Roberts; her parents, Roy Helen Sicble; her mother and father- in-law, Bill Erma Bartels; grandparents, aunts, uncles and friends; along with her two special pets, Thunder Cat and Pickles Dove.
