Janelle Rae Swanson

Janelle Rae Swanson, 58, died April 5, 2014, in her home in Bismarck, ND. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 12:00 noon at Church of St. Mary in Bismarck, ND, with Rev. Msgr. Gene Lindemann officiating. Burial will follow the service at the ND Veterans Cemetery in Mandan. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00-7:00 pm and Thursday from 5:00-7:00 pm at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a vigil service will begin at 7:00 pm on Thursday evening. Visitation will continue on Friday one hour prior to the service at the church. Janelle Rae Swanson was born April 7, 1955, to Leo and Eva Aarnes Swanson. Janelle was born and raised in Bismarck, ND, where she attended Bismarck High School. She graduated from Bismarck High School in 1973. In 1975, she married Kenneth Glass. Together, they had 3 children: Sarah, Jeremiah, and Emily. In 2011, she remarried Ron Kuntz of Bismarck, ND. Janelle worked the majority of her life as an activity director at St. Vincent's Care Center, Missouri Slope, Baptist Home, and Terrace. Janelle also worked for BNSF, and most recently was teaching piano and guitar lessons in her home. Janelle loved her animals, especially her beloved dog Charlie. Janelle enjoyed swimming, gardening, being around family and friends, spending time with her grandchildren, and music. Janelle is survived by her husband, Ron Kuntz, Bismarck, ND; son, Jeremiah Ilka Glass, Golden, CO; daughter, Sarah Volk, Richland, WA; daughter, Emily Nathan Cote', Las Vegas, NV; step-daughter, Amanda Chad Jahner, Dickinson, ND; step-son, Jeremy Heather Kuntz, West Fargo, ND; step-son, Chris Aspen Sandau Kuntz, Mandan, ND; brother, Scott Gail Swanson, Huntington Beach, CA; her grandchildren, Eben, Isabella, Ireland, and Grayson Glass, Mariya Schneider, McKenzie and Kaden Volk, Paxton and Destiny Kuntz, Elijah Kuntz, McKenzie Serr, Daytona Haugen, and Kiah, Eastyn, and Bentley Jahner; niece, Caylene Denzler; nephew, Andrew Swanson; and mother-in-law, Martha Kuntz, Bismarck, ND. Janelle was preceded in death by her parents Leo and Eva Swanson, and her father-in-law, Michael Kuntz.
