June Tudor

June Greaves Tudor, 87, died on March 3, 2008, at Edgewood Vista in Spearfish, SD, where she had resided for the past four years. A memorial service will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM at St. George's Episcopal Church in Bismarck with Rev. Michael Horn officiating. June was born on December 30, 1920, in Glenwood, MN, the third daughter of Emily and Harold Greaves. June married Dr. Robert Tudor on August 8, 1941, in Minneapolis, MN. She and Bob had three children, Richard Liz, Thomas Sharon, and Ann Roger Oldenkamp. Their sons Rich and Tom were born while Bob was in the Army, and shortly after moving to Bismarck in 1948 their daughter, Ann, was born. June was an active member of St. George's Memorial Episcopal Church in Bismarck, serving as Senior Warden, and was also a member of St. Margaret's Guild, which supported and sponsored many Church activities. She was also a member of Chapter F of P.E.O., Monday Club, and Republican Women. She enjoyed serving as hostess for the annual Tudor Brothers Christmas party, and her wonderful sugar cookies were a tradition at Bob's annual Christmas dinner held for many years at the Gourmet House. She developed many close friendships with the regular attendees at these parties. She also enjoyed spending part of each summer for several years at Pelican Lake in Minnesota, where many evenings were spent sitting on the wall overlooking the lake with her good friends, Bob and Eileen, Paul and Bonnie, and Anna. June had a special love for all animals, especially cats; Popey, Beezle, and Leo lived with the Tudor family for many years. Also, she enjoyed watching the birds attracted to the feeders located outside the dining room at Edgewood Vista. Besides her many special friends in Bismarck, June made many new friends in Spearfish, especially Lou Nenaber, who became one of her closest friends. June is survived by her three children; eight grandchildren, Robert, Melissa, Bethany, Thomas, Richard, Elizabeth, Emily, and Katherine; and one sister-in-law, Michael Tudor. She is also survived by two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Tudor, and her sisters, Ruth McIntosh and Betty Kinyon. The family prefers memorials be given to St. George's Foundation.
