Lawrence P Baron

Lawrence Baron, 79, Bismarck, passed away unexpectedly on January 16, 2014, at St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck. Services to celebrate Larry's life will be held Tuesday, January 21, at 10:30 am at Parkway Funeral Services, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, with Rev. Paul Nather officiating. Burial will be held at Mandan Union Cemetery, Mandan. There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. Lawrence had been known to most as Larry, but for those who knew him well, he was brother dad, grandpa, uncle and friend. He will be missed for the loss of his loving and lively guiding presence. Larry was born May 19, 1934, and grew up near Fallon, ND, on his family homestead with his brothers John, Matthew and Amandus along with sisters Rose, Monica and Dorothy. Larry enjoyed time as an outdoorsman; camping and fishing were favored activities. He kept horses and enjoyed snowmobiling. As a young man, he participated as a member of the state's baseball team. He had a long and celebrated career in upholstery, including restoring many classic automobiles, even making it into a national magazine which called him "Larry the Stitcher" for his work. During his lifetime he was married to Lois McArthur and had three children Gregory, Lugene and Judy. He later married Linda Ereth and had three children Rebecca, Lorenz and Belinda. Larry stayed close to his children throughout his life and spent time with them and his grandchildren. In his few retired years Larry spent time working on his garden growing peas and garlic, chasing the squirrels out of his bird feeder with his water gun and spending time with his family, whom he dearly loved. Larry is survived by his children, Gregory Baron, Carla Englestad, Judy Kennedy, Rebecca Bush, Lorenz Baron and Belinda Pazanin; his grandchildren, Kyle, Brian, Scott, Cathryn, Michael, Matthew, Elizabeth, Danielle, Alexandra, Nicholas, Ashlynn, MacKenna and Amelia; and his great-grandchildren, Konnor, Kristopher, Sophia, and Acelyn; his sister, Monica Tubbs; and sister-in-law, Peggy Baron. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lugene Schaf; his granddaughter, Sarah Kennedy; parents, Lorenz and Monica Schmidt Baron; his brothers; and his sisters, Rose Larson and Dorothy Green.
