Lucinda Ernestein Meyer

Lucinda Ernestein Meyer, 91, Bismarck, went with the Lord peacefully on November 21, 2012. No services will be held. Lucinda was born October 20, 1921, on the Beitelspacher farm near Temvik, North Dakota, to John and Clara Beitelspacher. She was raised in Temvik, and attended Sandcreek District grade school. She graduated high school from Temvik and went on to continue her studies in teaching. She attended two years of junior college and began teaching at the Ecklund and Glenview township grade schools outside of Baldwin. During her time as a teacher, she met her love and soulmate, Albert Meyer. The two married on her birthday, October 20, 1943, on the Beitelspacher farm. They were happily married for 69 years, never spending a moment apart. Albert and Lucinda had one special daughter, Kathren, who passed away shortly after birth. They had one son, Johnny, whom was the pride and joy of their lives. Lucinda took great pride in her garden, especially her strawberry patch, which was very popular with neighbors, family and friends. She also enjoyed farming and attending to the cattle with Albert on their farm near Baldwin. Lucinda loved fishing, goose hunting, and camping with Albert and Johnny. The family often took camping and fishing trips during the summer, and loved visiting their close friends in Canada. Lucinda loved spending time with family and friends. She would always encourage those around her to commit more time to family and less time working. She said that was the secret to a great life, full of love and happiness. Lucinda's great love for life and people taught others to love more. She always had a kind word for those around her and had many friends that became "adopted family members". She was always willing to help those in need, never hesitating with a hug or a piece of well-learned advice. She was a great storyteller and always had a funny tale or joke to tell. She enjoyed listening to the stories Albert would tell, always ready to add laughter and life to his already vibrant tales. Lucinda's witty sense of humor was loved by all and one could always count on a fun and quick comeback. She could make anyone laugh, no matter their mood or disposition. She loved music, especially when Albert would sing and play for her. He had written many songs inspired by his love for her and would sing them often. Albert would sing Lucinda's favorite song, "Let Me Call You Sweetheart," every morning. The love they shared was an inspiration to all that knew them. Lucinda's hugs, smiles, generous spirit, and unconditional love for those around her will certainly be missed by everyone who knew and loved her. Lucinda is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Lillian and Charlie Abell, Linton; brother and sister-in-law, Neil and Lyla Beitelspacher, Linton; brother-in-law, Billy, Baldwin; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert; son, Johnny; baby daughter, Kathren; sister, Lorraine; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Anne and Jacob; sister-in-law, Ella; brother-in-law, Edwin; sisters-in-law, Clara and Louise; and her parents, John and Clara Beitelspacher.
