Paulette Jone Hague

Paulette Jone Hague, 49, Mandan, passed away October 21, 2010 at her home surrounded by her loving family under the care of St. Alexius Home Health and Hospice Care. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26, at Pollock Lutheran Church, Pollock, SD. Visitation will be Sunday, Oct. 24, from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 East Divide Ave., Bismarck, where the family will be receiving visitors from 6:00 ? 8:00 p.m. A family service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday evening, Oct. 25, at Pollock Lutheran Church. Visitation will continue from 12:00 noon ? 2:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service at the church. Paulette was born September 6, 1961 in Mobridge, SD, the daughter of Peter and Mabel Reierson Bauer. Paulette graduated from Bismarck High School in 1979. After high school she attended Glendale Community College, Glendale, AZ, for one year while providing child care for her Martin nephews and niece. In 1981 Paulette worked for the Rapid City Journal while providing child care for two of her nieces. She returned to Bismarck and received an associate's degree from Capital Commercial College. While in college Paulette worked several seasons at the ND State Tax Department, as well as a part time data entry clerk at the ND Republican Headquarters. After college she was employed as an administrative assistant for the State of ND, Central Data Processing for five years. Paulette married Scott Hague on June 4, 1988 at Pollock Lutheran Church. Born to this union was Paulette?s miracle masterpiece, Janie Marie on November 5, 1989. Having been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 11, Paulette's kidneys failed after Janie?s birth and she began dialysis. After 18 months, Paulette received a kidney and pancreas transplant at the University of Iowa in 1991. Two subsequent pancreas transplants followed at the University of Minnesota in 1999 and 2001. Paulette endured a 21 year health care odyssey with many ups and downs. She never once complained about her health issues and the complications she had to live with. Paulette's courage, her smile, and her positive outlook were an inspiration to everyone who knew her. Her unwavering faith in God guided her through this journey called life. Her undaunting faith inspired Janie to pursue a major in Pastoral Ministry at the University of Mary with plans to go on to seminary. Paulette, Scott, and Janie worship at First Lutheran Church in Mandan. Paulette is survived by her husband, Scott; her daughter, Janie; her sisters, Bonnie Vander Laan, Pollock, SD, Judy Larry Martin, Castle Rock, CO, Renee Straley, Denver, CO; her brother, Butch Nikki Bauer, Rapid City, SD, and her twin brother Paul Encarna Bauer, Rota, Spain; one sister-in-law, Kelly Mike Daiker, Pollock, SD, and one brother-in-law, Danny Brenda Hague, Herreid, SD; three aunts, Katie VanDer Vorste, Custer, SD, Jean Vander Laan and Gloria Fuhrer, both of Bismarck , ND; one uncle, Howard Esther Reierson, Pollock, SD; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother; her grandparents; and brother-in-law, Arlo Vander Laan.
