Pauline Hildebrand-Alm

Pauline Hildebrand-Alm, 96, died September 6, 2007, at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, Bismarck. Services will be held on Monday, September 10, 2007, at 1:00pm at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bismarck with the Rev. Steve Sathre officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 2-9 PM Sunday at Eastgate Funeral Service. Pauline was born on January 3, 1911, in Mercer County, ND, to Christian "Christ" and Magdelina Mehlhoff Zeller. She was raised and educated in Expansion, ND. Pauline married Fred W. Hildebrand, north of Hazen, ND on October 30, 1932. They lived in Hazen until moving to Bismarck, ND, in 1944. Fred died in Bismarck, June 13, 1982. Pauline married Marvin Alm on June 29, 1984, in Bismarck. Marvin died April 27, 1993. Pauline was a seamstress and a housekeeper. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she was a Sunday School teacher and a Bible School teacher. Pauline worked as Floor Lady at Armory's Creamery in Bismarck and as cook at the Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center from 1967 until retiring in 1984. Pauline was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she was a circle member and sang in the choir. She also sang with the English and German Singing groups at the Senior Center from which she received certificates of gratitude. Pauline volunteered with the Missouri Slope RSVP and received a plaque for 25 years of service after the age of 65. She was a member of the Republican Party and enjoyed assisting with elections and helped with the voting process at Saxvik Elementary School. Pauline had a passion for cooking, baking and gardening. She also enjoyed ceramic work, sewing, and card playing. Pauline is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Clarence F. and Jane Hildebrand of Texas; her daughter and son-in-law, Corrine P. and Rev. Dean Rothchild, Cedar Rapids, IA; her step-daughter and her husband, Valoyce and Bruce Miller, Bismarck, ND; her stepson and his wife, Merlin and Shirley Alm, Finley, ND; seven grandchildren, Georg and his wife, Sonya, Klara, and Sara Hildebrand and John and his wife, Afsaneh, Anna Milbach, and her husband, Joe, Emily, and Martha Rothchild; one great-grandchild, Satara; 10 step-grandchildren; 29 great-step-grandchildren; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Ida and August Klundt of Minnesota, and Esther Kay of Montana; one sister-in-law, Olga Heth of Beulah, ND; and many nieces, nephews, and good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; two infant brothers, William and Benjaman Zeller; two brothers, Gottlieb and Albert Zeller; one infant sister, Erna Zeller; and three sisters, Lena Pankiewicz, Hulda Hildebrand, and Clara Gedrose. She was also preceded in death by step-daughter Darlene Rosendahl.
