Sally Frank

Sally Frank, 69, Bismarck, died September 11, 2006, at her home. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Church of St. Mary with Rev. Thomas Richter officiating. Visitation will be 9am - 9pm Thursday at Eastgate Funeral Service and one hour prior to the service at the church. A vigil/rosary will be held at 7:00 pm Thursday at Eastgate Funeral Service. Burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck. Sally was born on December 4, 1936, in Bismarck, ND, the daughter of William and Ellen Crawford Mills. Sally lived on the family farm near Moffit, ND, where she attended rural school, graduating from Bismarck High School in 1954. On May 28, 1955, Sally married Wilbur Frank in Hazelton, ND. Sally was employed by Dakota Fire Insurance for 47 years; she worked full-time 42 of those years until retiring in 2000. She returned to work at Dakota Fire Insurance in 2001 and continued working part-time until becoming ill in 2006. Sally was dedicated to everything she did, she loved her job and where she worked at for those many years. Sally loved cooking and baking, she had many favorite recipes that she enjoyed making for all of her friends and family; her most favorite recipe being her chocolate cake. The kitchen was one of Sally's favorite places to be. Her children and grandchildren were the love of her life, and she was very proud of all of their many accomplishments. She was always there to help and show her support, whether it was bringing her pick-up and loading it up to move, moving into college, attending activities, or babysitting, Sally was always there to help. Sally enjoyed company and loved to sit and visit for hours, Christmas was especially her favorite time of year. Sally's house was always filled with bars, baked goods, presents, and love. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Archie Mertz of Lincoln, ND; her sons, Joe Deb Frank of West Fargo, ND, and John Lori Frank of Bismarck, ND; her grandchildren, Carlean Mertz and Stacy Dagnault, both of Minneapolis, MN, David Frank of Aberdeen, SD, Kelly Frank of Fargo, ND, and Nikki Frank and Kala Frank, both of Bismarck, ND; her great-grandchildren, Katie and Cayla Cordova of Mandan, ND, and Aidan Dagnault of Minneapolis, MN. Sally is preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur; her parents, William and Ellen Mills; and her grandson, Loren Mertz.
