Sally Schwede

Sally Schwede, 81, Bismarck, passed away on March 21, 2013 at St. Gabriel's Care Center in Bismarck. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 26, at 11:30 AM at Church of St. Mary in Bismarck with Rev. Msgr. Gene Lindemann officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery following the church service. Visitation will be Monday, March 25, from 6:00 – 9:00 PM at Eastgate Funeral Service where a rosary/vigil service will be held at 7:00 PM that evening. Sally was born in Bismarck, ND, on April 28, 1931, the daughter of Frank and Eva Dinius Huck. She graduated from Beulah High School. Sally married Robert Schwede Jr. on April 21, 1951, in Colorado Springs, CO, where Robert was stationed while serving in the US Army. Sally enjoyed being with family and friends and keeping busy in her home and yard. Sally enjoyed decorating her home with lights and decorations for each holiday. Her back yard, complete with flowers and bushes of all sorts, was her pride and joy. Sally also had a 1968 Mustang convertible that she could be seen proudly driving around Bismarck during the summer months. She also was a great cook and enjoyed holidays when her family would gather for big meals. She was a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit parish. Sally is survived by her five children, Michael Schwede Jill, Mandan, Connie Heidt Dick, Bismarck, Cynthia Sylte, Bismarck, Chuck Schwede Ann, Cannon Falls, MN, and Marc Schwede, Bismarck. Sally also leaves behind two sister-in laws, June Moore Mahlon, Coon Rapids, MN, and Mary Schwede, Bismarck. Sally also is survived by twelve grandchildren: Kelly Jason Boynton, Tori Matt Koedam, Jason Kara Schwede, Mitch Schwede Sydney Backsen, Amanda Heidt, Jeff Cher Heidt, Jenny Heidt, Kelsey Adam Templin, Kale Schwede, Mac Schwede, Taylor Schwede, and Tate Schwede; ten great-grandchildren; and special aunts, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Schwede, her parents; her step-mother, Mayme Huck; her sister, Evangeline Rambur; her brother- in-law, George Schwede; her sisters-in-law, Rosemary Wetzel and Mable Naplin; and her son-in-law, Calvin Sylte. The family prefers memorials to the Bismarck Cancer Center.
