Steven Larson

Steven Larson, 54, Bismarck, lost his battle with ALS, June 30, 2010, at Medcenter One St. Vincent’s Care Center, Bismarck. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm Friday at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, with Rev. Darrel Aleson officiating. There will be no visitation, as cremation has taken place. Steven Jay was born September 6, 1955, to Wilfred and Yvonne Beach Larson at Moorhead, MN. He was raised and educated in Carrington, ND, graduating from Carrington High School in 1973. Steve was an assistant in his father’s gas station and later worked in construction in Fargo, Idaho, and Colorado. In 1979, Steve moved to Bismarck. He worked construction with Gene Wiese Construction Co., and later was employed with Agriliance Agronomy Center in Bismarck. Steve’s life was enriched by the great times he spent fishing and camping. He was involved for many years with the Governor’s Cup fishing tournament, where the fish lost and Steve won. He loved sports, especially football, and was a very supportive fan of the Minnesota Twins. After meeting his special lady, Stacey Olson, Steve and Stacey enjoyed traveling to many scenic and fun destinations in Arizona, Washington, DC, Colorado and Nevada. He had a great deal of love and appreciation for her being in his life. Steve felt especially blessed by having the parents who gave him birth and raised him, Wilfred and Yvonne, who live in Carrington. He loved his boys, Aaron and Travis, and remembered fondly the times he got to watch them wrestle, cheering them on to be State Wrestling Champs, Aaron and his wife, Stacie, live in Tower City, with their three children, and Travis lives in Fargo. Typical as a Grandpa, Steve had a very special place in his heart for his grandchildren, Brandon, Parker, and Morgan. He loved spending time with them and enjoyed watching the boys wrestle and his granddaughter, Morgan, blossom. He is survived by his sweetie, Stacey Olson; two sons, three grandchildren; his parents; his beloved dog, Crusher; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Becky and Dean Zink, Carrington, ND, and Cindy and Robert Miller, Fargo, ND; Stacey’s children, grandchildren, one niece, one nephew, and many great friends. Steve was preceded in death by both his paternal and maternal grandparents. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to your local home healthcare and hospice.
