Adam Leno

Adam J. Leno, 73, Bismarck, formerly of Tuttle, North Dakota, died October 6, 2004, at his home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, October 11, at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in Bismarck with the Rev. Lester Wolfgram officiating. Burial will be at the North Dakota Veteran's Cemetery in Mandan with military honors provided by VFW Post #1326. Visitation will be Saturday from 2:00 - 9:00 PM and Sunday from 1:00 - 9:00 PM at Boelter-Eastgate Funeral Service, 200 West Turnpike Avenue, Bismarck. A prayer service will be held on Sunday at 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Adam was born on January 14, 1931, in Tuttle, the son of Jacob and Carolina Rivinius Leno. He attended country school in Kidder County, graduating from Tuttle High School in 1948. Adam also graduated from Moler Barber College in Fargo, North Dakota. He entered the U.S. Army in 1951, receiving an honorable discharge in 1953. Following his discharge from the Army, Adam entered the plumbing trade, retiring in 1993 from Industrial Contractors. Adam was a member of Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in Bismarck. He had a deep faith in God, felt it was important to be faithful unto the Lord, and was of the philosophy that those who walk with God always reach their destination. He was also a member of Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union Local 300 and the American Legion. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, fishing with his grandsons, and woodworking. He is survived by his wife of forty-four years, Doris of Bismarck; three daughters and three sons-in-law, Cynthia Lundgren of Baxter, Minnesota, Steve Lundgren of Sauk Centre, Minnesota, Sandra and Brian Zink of Bakersfield, California, and Susan and Kevin Brockel of Bismarck; ten grandchildren, Nicholas, Rachel, Chris, Aaron, and Tyler Lundgren, Brandon Leno, Ashley and Zachary Zink, and Shanna and Shane Brockel; five brothers and two sisters-in-law, Jake Leno, Edwin and Gwen Leno, Willie and Esther Leno, and Harold Leno, all of Bismarck, and Art Leno of San Antonio, Texas; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Frieda and John Jochim of Tacoma, Washington, Clara Krein of Bismarck, and Tillie Quincer of Miles City, Montana; two sisters-in-law, Pauline Leno and Linda Leno, both of Bismarck; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Adam was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and three sisters.
