Adel Rothstein

Adel "Del" C. Rothstein, 80, Bismarck, went to her eternal reward on March 20, 2005, at her home. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10:30 AM at Church of Corpus Christi with the Rev. Paul Becker officiating. Burial will be Thursday at 1:00 PM at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Forman, North Dakota. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3:00 - 9:00 PM at Boelter-Eastgate Funeral Service, 200 West Turnpike Avenue, Bismarck, where a rosary service will be held at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the church. Adel was born on December 12, 1924, in Forman, North Dakota, the daughter of Isadore and Frances Mahrer Rothstein. At the premature death of her mother, Adel was raised by her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Mahrer. She attended rural school and graduated from St. Francis Academy in Hankinson, North Dakota. Adel earned her BA Degree at Alverno Teacher's College in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and her MAS Degree at DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois. She taught school in Rugby, Karlsruhe, Grand Forks, Hankinson, Wahpeton, and Minto, North Dakota. Adel loved her work as a teacher and was always ready to further her own education and to be an innovator to better the education of her students. After retirement, Adel volunteered in various works of charity. Del is survived by her aunt, Margaret Hansen of Forman, North Dakota; two half-brothers; three half-sisters; and many cousins and wonderful friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandparents; one half-brother; and one half-sister.
