Albert Theodore Meyer

Albert Theodore Meyer, 98, Bismarck, peacefully went with the Lord on November 18, 2012. No services will be held. Albert was born on December 21, 1913, on the Meyer family farm near Baldwin, ND, to Julius and Katherina Spitzer Meyer. He was raised in Baldwin and attended rural schools. He met the love of his life and soulmate, Lucinda Beitelspacher, whom he married on October 20, 1943. They were joined together in front of God and family as they celebrated Lucinda's birthday. They were happily married for sixty-nine years, never spending a moment apart. Albert and Lucinda had one daughter, Kathren, who passed away shortly after birth. They had one son, Johnny, who was the pride and joy of their lives. Albert enjoyed farming and maintaining livestock near Baldwin with his son, until he and Lucinda retired and moved to Bismarck. Albert was an avid hunter and fisherman. He and Lucinda would camp, fish, and goose hunt together as much as they could, always enjoying in the great outdoors and each other. Albert was also a lover of deer hunting and enjoyed having his family with him in the search for the big buck. Always a great storyteller, Albert had many wonderful memories to share, from the moment he met his dear Lucinda to the two lightening strikes he survived, his funny and imaginative stories will continue to hold a special place in the hearts of his family members. Not only did Albert have a talent for story-telling, but he was an amazing singer and musician. He played the piano and the accordian by ear and always had a song to sing and a smile to share. His beautiful voice and cherished love songs will surely be missed by all that knew and loved him. He kept a special notebook at his side, which contained songs he loved and some he had written. Albert loved telling jokes and making people smile. He had the gift of giving love and making those around him feel beautiful and special. His wonderful spirit, big heart, loving smile, and hugs touched everyone near him; and will be missed greatly. Albert is survived by his loving wife, Lucinda; his brother, Billy, Baldwin; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his son, Johnny; his baby daughter, Kathren; his brother, Jacob and sister-in-law, Anne; sister-in-law, Ella; brother, Edwin; sister, Clara; sister, Louise; and his stepmother, Sophia Meyer; and his parents, Julius and Katherina Meyer.
