Albert W Spah

Albert Spah, 85, Tuttle, ND, died November 26, 2011, at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, Bismarck, ND. Services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, November 30, 2011, at English Lutheran Church, Tuttle, with Rev. Valerie Kinlan officiating. Burial will be in Tuttle Cemetery. A prayer service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, November 29, at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, Bismarck. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm Tuesday, November 29, at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck. Albert, the son of Fred and Karolina Gerr Spah was born at the Spah family farm where he lived most of his life. He attended grade school at Atwood Township north of the farm. After eighth grade graduation, he started his farming career. He married Alice Smith of Steele, ND, on October 22, 1950, in Tuttle at St. Paul Lutheran Church. He was a devoted rancher, farmer and dairyman on the farm five miles northeast of Tuttle. He was a member of English Lutheran Church. He served on the church board, jubilee committee, school board, and was an Atwood township supervisor. Albert resided at the Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center for almost two years where he enjoyed visiting on the telephone and with all his friends there. He mastered the transition from loader tractor joy still to the power wheelchair controls. Albert is survived by one daughter, Barb and Jesse Conklin, Fergus Falls, MN; one son, Jack and Kathy Spah, Tuttle, ND; one sister, Pauline Leno, Bismarck, ND; six grandchildren, Nicole and Scott Gregor, Sioux Falls, SD, Jason and Christal Spah, Sioux Falls, SD, Josh Conklin and fiancée Sarah Phillops, Fergus Falls, MN, Chad and Rachel Spah, Indianapolis, IN, Heather and Sam Blondeau, Fergus Falls, MN, and Ryan and Whitney Spah, Bismarck, ND; eight great-grandchildren, Alexandra, Austin and Zander Gregor, Jesse and Abbi Blondeau, Charlotte Spah, Sophie Spah and Breille Spah. Albert was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Alice; his parents, Fred and Karolina Spah; three brothers, Jacob, Fred, and Henry; two sisters, Lydia Auch and Amelia Liedtke; and one great-granddaughter, Brooke Blondeau.
