Alice Huber

Alice Mae June Jensen Huber, 65, Bismarck, died peacefully at her home with her loved ones around her on November 20, 2006. Services will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday at Parkway Funeral Service. There will be no visitation. Burial with be held at 1:00 pm Friday at Parshall Cemetery. Alice was born on January 4, 1941, in Fargo, adopted by Bill W.S. and Rose Jensen in 1941. Alice was raised on a farm north of Kenmare; she loved the farm life. She graduated from High School in 1959. Alice married Kenneth E. Huber, and lived in Kenmare until 1966 when they moved to Parshall. Alice and Ken raised two children and had many long-time friends and extended family friends in Parshall. They moved to Bismarck in 1987 and Alice worked at various parts stores, but her favorite job was working in the fitting room at Walmart. Alice retired to spend quality time at the Lake with her grandchildren and enjoyed reading to them, and spoiled them as only she could. She had a love of the outdoors, and her home and it shows it; all the love and care went into her gardens. She loved to work with her hands and was very good at it, from oil painting, to taking classes on airbrushing, to making picture frames with Ken. If it could be done, she would find a way to do it. She also tried her hand at hunting but found that was best left to her son and husband. Alice found out she had cancer on February 1, 2005. Odds stacked against her, she fought the cancer like a lion, and gave it all she had. And day after day, she always had a smile and her winning sense of humor which not only got her through the tough times but also her family and friends. It is impossible to put into words how she has influenced everyone she has touched and the stories left untold and the facts as we know them. Life does not do justice to a woman like her. She was the greatest woman around. Alice is survived by her husband, Ken of Bismarck, ND; her son and daughter-in-law, Troy and Ardyce and their children, Ashley Mae 12 and Travis J. 7 all of Landsford, ND; her daughter and son-in-law, Tawnie and Bill Niemann and their daughter, Kelsy Rose 8 of Bismarck, ND; her half-sisters, Carol and Connie Desautel of Grafton, ND, Caryn Boyle of WA, Pat Sorneson Cleveland of WA, Candace Bubendorf, and Bonnie Sorenson both of East Grand Forks, MN; and her half-brother, Ken Sorenson of WA. Alice is preceded in death by her parents, Bill W.S. and Rose Jensen; and her brother, Walter Jensen. She will be missed so much by all her many close friends.
