Amelia Wolf

After a long battle with lung cancer, Amelia Wolf died at the age of 86 on Friday, August 10, 2012, surrounded by her family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Zeeland with Rev. Wenceslaus Katanga officiating. Burial will be at St. John's Cemetery in Zeeland. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at Eastgate Funeral Service in Bismarck where a vigil/rosary service will be held at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Tuesday one hour prior to the service at the church in Zeeland. Amelia was born on May 21, 1926, and was the daughter of Valentine and Mary Senger Kelsch. Amelia grew up on a farm east of Linton, ND. She loved riding horses and often talked about growing up with her family and friends. She loved spending time with her father, who was a musician and farmer. As a teenager, her favorite pastime was attending weekend dances, where her father played in a band and she learned to jitterbug, polka and waltz. Amelia pursued her dream to further her education and enrolled at the School of Cosmetology in Everett, WA. She completed her degree and became a licensed cosmetologist. She then moved back to North Dakota, when she married the love of her life, Leo Wolf, on November 23, 1948. For the next 19 years, they farmed in Zeeland, ND, where they raised six children. In September 1967, the family moved to Bismarck, ND. Amelia's next adventures included running a daycare, managing apartment rentals with her husband, and sponsoring numerous pageant events for her daughters, Juliene and Tammy, one of which Tammy was selected as "Little Miss North Dakota". She loved gardening, flowers, traveling and visiting family across the US. She was an amazing seamstress and she enjoyed cooking large German meals and guests never left her home hungry. She was a member of St. Marys Altar Society and Christian Mothers. Amelia was devoted to her faith and was a loving mother who cherished her children: Sharilee Doug Everson, Marylin Gary Messer, Lea Steve Nelson, Patrick Sharon Wolf, Juliene Steve Altman, and Tamara Wolf. She found great happiness sharing time with her grandchildren: Douglas Everson Jr., Crystal Logan, Quintessa and Miles Nelson, Amanda, John, Kurt, Savannah, Evan and Alexandra Wolf, Jessica Wangler and Jara Popinga, and six great-grandchildren. Amelia is survived by her five children and siblings Judy Mattern and Clarence Kelsch, and sisters-in-law, Doris Kelsch and Alvina Kelsch. Amelia is preceded in death by her husband, Leo; her daughter, Tamara; her parents, Valentine and Mary Kelsch; and her siblings and in-laws, Sam and Teresa Kelsch, John Kelsch, and Leo Mattern. She will be remembered by all of us as the lady who could make a deal! She had a passion for life and always looked ahead to tomorrow.
