Anita Neumann

Anita D. Neumann, 84, Bismarck, died December 4, 2005 at her home. Services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday at McCabe United Methodist Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Art Scanson officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM Wednesday at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 East Divide Ave., where a prayer service will be held at 7:00 that evening. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church. Anita was born on September 25, 1921, in Perkins County, South Dakota, the daughter of James and Emma Holter Hicks. She was raised on the family farm in Perkins County and graduated from Hettinger High School in 1938. She continued her education at Capital Commercial College in Bismarck. She worked at Ed Phillips and Sons in Bismarck. She then married Richard R. Neumann on December 29, 1943, in Wibaux, Montana. She was the bookkeeper for the Apple Creek Country Club for 40 years. From the time of retirement up until her death she was a volunteer at McCabe United Methodist Church. Anita was the treasurer for the Caring Sundays Singles Group. She enjoyed playing Dominoes, Scrabble, Cribbage and going to her grandchildrens sporting events. She enjoyed all the family gatherings throughout the year and never failed to make the holiday turkey. Her pleasure was spending time with her family. She was a gentle and loving person whose caring for others and active life were a model for her family and others. Keeping her in their hearts is one son, Dennis Joanie Neumann of Bismarck; her five daughters, Judy Sam Wangler, Peggy Fenton, Bonnie Dan Taylor all of Bismarck, Carol John Risberg of Grand Rapids, MN, and Barbara Dan Kingsley of Hill City, MN; her grandchildren, Scott Joanne Wangler of Bismarck, Jill Russ Nordland of Bismarck, Andrea Jim Polk of Sauk Rapids, MN, Crystal Mike Grippi of Denver, CO, Amy Taylor of Bismarck, Ryan Kingsley of Hill City, MN, Rich Tiffany Kingsley of Swatara, MN, Amanda Chris Moon of Nashville, TN, and Mike Steffanson of Portland, OR; her great-grandchildren, Amber Boyko, Zachary Boyko, Carlee Nordland, McKenzie Nordland Jordan Wangler, Jenna Wangler, Jacie Wangler, Turner Polk, Shea Polk, and a tenth great-grandchild to be born in May; one sister, Janet Zimmerman of Hettinger, ND; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard and her parents. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the McCabe United Methodist Church.
