Ann Belverstone

Ann Belverstone, 85, Bismarck, died July 19, 2010, at her home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am Thursday at Church of St. Mary, Bismarck, with Rev. Gene Lindemann officiating. Burial will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bismarck. Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm Wednesday at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a vigil/rosary will begin at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Ann was born July 18, 1925, in Emmons County, ND, the daughter of Valentine and Katherine Schneider Holzer. Ann was raised and educated in Linton, ND, where she married Ray Belverstone on January 11, 1944. They lived in Linton until 1961 when they moved to Bismarck. Ann was a housewife and homemaker and helped Ray and their sons with lawn care and snow removal services. Ann enjoyed cooking and baking for her family. She loved being with people and having her family near. She enjoyed dancing and helping plan her grandchildren’s weddings. Gardening and outdoor work were her specialties. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of her life. Ann is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Val and Betty Belverstone, Alvin and Patty Belverstone and Frank and Jody Belverstone, all of Bismarck; three daughters and son-in-law, Darlene Rocky Gruchella, Mandan, Trish Dennis Jose, Bismarck, and Cindy Dane Erickson, Bismarck; one brother, Frank Holzer, Linton; one sister, Martha Holzer Bosch, Linton; 13 grandchildren, Tina, Todd, Tonya, Trina, Troy, Jesse, Casey, Kellie, Jason, Bobbie Jo, Nathan, Erica, and Somer; three step-grandchildren, Jennifer, Andy, and Melissa; 16 great-grandchildren, Britny, Ben, Dakota, Kylie, Savannah, Tess, Mya, Tanner, Rylee, Brady, Brookelyn, Matthew, Alexias, Payton, Sebastian, and Garrett; and 17 step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray; her mother and father, Valentine and Katherine Holzer; eight sisters, Elizabeth, Fransiska, Joannes, Clementine, Loretta, Christine, Christane, and Katie; four brothers, Anton, Mike, Wendelyn, and George; one son-in-law, Rocky Gruchella and one great-step-grandsons, Tyler. The family wishes to extend sincere appreciation to Hospice for taking care of Ann.
