Anton Doll

Anton J. Doll, 88, Bismarck, died December 25, 2009, at the Baptist Home, Bismarck. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Wednesday, December 30, at the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, Bismarck, with Rev. John Guthrie officiating. Burial will be held in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck, with full military honors. Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm Tuesday at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, where a rosary will begin at 7:00 pm. Anton “Tony” was born April 2, 1921, in Mandan, ND, the son of Frederick and Helen Hertz Doll. He was raised and educated in Mandan. He married Katherina Weixel on January 5, 1942. Tony proudly served in the US Army during WWII and was stationed in Africa and China. On his return to the US, he continued working for the Northern Pacific Railroad until he retired. Following retirement, Tony served on the board of directors for the Railroad Employees Credit Union. Tony enjoyed fishing, gardening, and baking German food. Woodworking, music and dancing were also a big part of his life. He and Katie loved to dance and were familiar faces to all of the clubs. They also enjoyed traveling to the polka fests in the area. Tony loved having the family around, preparing meals and having BBQ for all of his relatives. The foundation for all of Tony’s talents was his faith in God. He will be deeply missed. He is survived by his wife, Katie Doll; his two sons, James Doll and Daniel Doll, both of Bismarck; his two daughters, Patricia Emineth and Mary Tony Danzl, both of Bismarck; his grandchildren, Michelle Doll, Andrew Doll, Bill Hayek and Bernie Hayek, Missy Doll Terry, Tim Doll, Tammy Corey Bradford, Shelly Herzing, Kelly Herzing, Richard Kari Emineth, Daryl Missy Emineth, Rita Doll, and Christopher, Andrew, and Joshua Danzl; numerous great grandchildren; and his daughters-in-law, Jeanette Doll and Nancy doll. He is also survived by two sisters, Justine Voss and Irene Boehm; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sons, Thomas and Raymond and an infant son, Anton Jr; his granddaughters, Deanna Doll, Telisa Doll and Sheila Jo Emineth; his three brothers, Adam, Jacob, and George; and one sister, Magdeline Emil.
