Arlene Nelson

Arlene Nelson, 55, Sterling, ND, died February 21, 2015, at a Bismarck hospital surrounded by loved ones. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 28, at 9:00 AM at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Steele with Rev. Jerome Hunkler officiating. Burial will be at Driscoll Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 27, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Eastgate Steele Chapel where an evening prayer service will begin at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church. Arlene was born on April 24, 1959, in Bismarck, ND, the daughter of Joe and Adeline Meier Wald. She was raised on the family farm in Sterling, ND. She attended elementary school in Sterling and high school in Bismarck. In 1977, Arlene along with her first husband, Ron Biegler, welcomed their first child, Jason, into their lives. In 1978, they moved back to Sterling and started their trucking business and welcomed their daughter, Joyce, in 1980. They continued to raise their family and truck for twenty-four years. In 2005, Arlene married Dennis Nelson and continued to make her home in Sterling. She kept driving truck and was involved in the lives of her grandchildren. Arlene was well known throughout the community for her specialty in cooking of German foods. She enjoyed playing cards and riding motorcycle with family and friends. She was a very hard-working and vivacious woman who was always ready for a good time. She was loved by all and will be deeply missed. Arlene is survived by her husband, Dennis of Sterling; her son, Jason Michelle Biegler of Dawson; her daughter, Joyce Jamyson Fischer of Tappen; her step-children, Tracy Jen Nelson of Bismarck, Stacy Shauna Nelson of Boise, ID, and Teresa Shawn Kershaw of Bismarck; her grandchildren, Eric, Morgan, and Jacob Biegler, Piper Fischer, Morgan and Megan Nelson, Riley and Henry Nelson, Michael, Allison, and Sydney Kershaw; her brothers, Leon Lori Wald and Darrel Cindy Wald; her sisters, Mary Ron Reimann, Charlene Larry Spotts, Sandy Paul Tishmack, Bernie Greg Humann, and Connie Jack Dockter; and many nieces, nephews, and good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Adeline Wald. Arlene will always be remembered and never forgotten.
