Arlene Stoner

Arlene Stoner, 76, passed away on March 28, 2008, following a brief illness. She has departed us for God's kingdom to be with her other family members who reside there. Services will be held at 10:30AM Wednesday at McCabe United Methodist Church, Bismarck, with Rev. Art Scanson officiating. Burial will be at the ND Veteran's Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00PM until 7:00PM Tuesday at Eastgate Funeral Service, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Arlene Jean Ryberg was born July 29, 1931 in Bismarck, ND, the daughter of David and Lillian Paul Ryberg. She grew up on the family farm 14 miles north east of Bismarck. Arlene attended Naughton Country School, which was located on the family farm. She graduated from Bismarck High School with the class of 1949. Arlene married Milton D. Bradford and they raised two sons, Milton A. and Douglas. For most of her young adult life she was a stay-at-home mom and was devoted to raising their sons. Later in life she spent a number of years working at Century High School as an Attendance Secretary where she worked until her retirement. She married Warren "Bud" Stoner after her children were grown. In retirement, she spent many summer days at Lake Tschida with her sister, Bev, son Milt, daughter-in-law Julie and many other family members. The lake was one of her favorite places. Arlene always looked forward to picnics with family and friends as well as holiday celebrations. Her immediate family all resided in the Bismarck area and it gave her great comfort and pleasure to have them near her. She spoke with them daily. She also enjoyed watching sporting events on television, particularly the Minnesota Twins and Vikings. She is survived by her sons, Milt Bradford and Doug Bradford and daughters-in-law Julie Bradford and Mary Bradford respectively; her sisters, Betty Brunelle Taghon and Beverly Meyer; her brother, Virgil Ryberg; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dave and Lillian Ryberg; her first husband, Milton D. Bradford; her second husband, Warren "Bud" Stoner; her brothers-in-law, Pat Brunelle and Bob Taghon; and her sister-in-law, Donna Ryberg and other family members not listed. The family would like to thank those of you who have extended us your kindness, thoughts, and prayers during Arlene's period of illness and death.
