Aune E Kershaw

Aune Kershaw, 81, Mandan, died August 20, 2012, at the Mandan Living Center. Services will be held 10:30 am Saturday, August 25, at First Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with Rev. Marv Mutzenberger officiating. Burial will be in Glencoe Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm – 7:00 pm Friday, August 24, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck. Aune was born November 19, 1930, near Wing, ND, the daughter of Walter and Fannie Antilla Ojanen. She attended school in Wing until the family moved to Bismarck. Aune was confirmed at First Lutheran Church and graduated from Bismarck High School. Aune married Dalbert Kershaw on January 8, 1949. In the early years of their marriage, they lived on a farm near Menoken, she shared many stories as she adjusted to farm life. They eventually moved to Bismarck, where they raised their family. Aune worked at Will-Moore School as a secretary for 30 years. Aune enjoyed traveling, visiting with friends and family, dancing, camping, and socializing with others. She especially looked forward to coffee and lunch with her Will-Moore school friends and others. She reserved Wednesdays for her special time with granddaughter, Beth and her husband, Trey. Aune enjoyed every opportunity she had to spend with both her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She looked forward to their visits and phone calls, and proudly displayed their photographs and art work in her home. Aune is survived by her daughter, Judy Dennis Fried; three sons, Richard Louise, David Lana Kershaw, and Terry Kershaw; nine grandchildren, Jason, Beth, Paul, Christopher, Adam, Ashley, Trina, Lisa, and Fannie; her 11 great-grandchildren, Whitney, Kylee, Megan, Grant, Tyler, Dawson, Drake, Zane, Eliza, Colter, and Devon; her sister, Sadie Dockter; her brothers-in-law, Richard Grother and Ross Albin; her sisters-in-law, Maureen Kershaw, Luella Anderson and Joanne Kershaw; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dalbert Kershaw; her parents, Walter and Fannie Ojanen; three sisters, Celia Grothe, Mildred Carrico, and Mabel Albin; one brother, Helge Ojanen; three brothers-in-law, Albert Kershaw, Dallas Kershaw; and Robert Dockter.
