Barry J Lee

Barry passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2013, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer in Bismarck, ND. Barry's strong faith in God helped him fight the battle and God's presence was always with him. Services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, August 1, 2013, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with Rev. Tim Johnson officiating. Family will greet visitors from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Wednesday, July 31, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a prayer service will begin at 7:00 pm. Barry was born March 6, 1967, in Windom, MN. He grew up in Windom and graduated from Windom Area High School in 1985. Barry then attended NDSU and later graduated from the University of Mary in Bismarck with a degree in Accounting and went on to earn his CPA. Barry met Gina Meronuck while attending NDSU. They married on August 31, 1991. Barry and Gina moved to Bismarck where he owned and managed the TCBY store. After completing his Accounting degree, Barry worked for Eureka Manufacturing and NDHFA. He had developed close friendships and admiration towards his fellow co-workers at NDHFA. Barry's children were his pride and joy. He was a wonderful father to them and husband to Gina. Activities he enjoyed doing with his family were biking, fishing, golfing, camping, attending plays, band and piano concerts and just playing around at home. He taught his family cribbage which they enjoyed many "tournaments" together. Barry was also an amazing Grill Master. He could grill most anything on the grill and it would melt in your mouth. It was important to Barry to carry on his Norwegian heritage by making lefse every holiday with Gina, Andrew and Yvonne. Most recently, Barry enjoyed a wonderful Disney vacation with his family-many more memories were made. Barry was diagnosed with stage 4 esophageal cancer in August, 2012. He gracefully fought this battle until his death on July 28, 2013, where he was surrounded by family. Barry is survived by his wife, Gina Meronuck, children, Yvonne and Andrew of Bismarck; parents, Wes Sandy Lee, Windom, MN, Barbara Terry Rothenbuehler, Rochert, MN, Don and Jan Meronuck, Fargo, ND; two sisters, Michelle Robert Elness, Fargo, ND, Becky Troy Telander, West Fargo, ND; brother-in-law, Jeremy Meronuck, Las Vegas, NV; nieces and nephews, Nathan, Kelsey & Katie Elness, Fargo, ND, Jacob & Lindsey Telander, West Fargo, ND. He is preceded in death by his grandparents and infant brother.
