Clarence M Erhardt

Clarence M. Erhardt, 61, Bismarck, passed away on Friday evening, April 6, 2012, at St. Gabriel's Community, with many of his family members by his side. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am Friday, April 13, at Church of Corpus Christi, Bismarck, with Rev. Paul Becker officiating. Burial will be held at 2:00 pm Friday at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Family will be receiving visitors from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm Thursday, April 12, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a rosary/vigil will begin at 7:00 pm. There will be no viewing as cremation has taken place. Clarence was born July 21, 1950, to George F. and Pauline Rohl Erhardt in Mandan, ND. He was raised in the Flasher area and graduated from Flasher High School in 1969. Clarence was drafted into the Army in January 1972, serving in Germany until his honorable discharge. In 1975, Clarence migrated to Bowbells, ND, and worked for Kleason Trucking at a potash plant in Northgate, ND. He worked there until the plant closed in 1997. Clarence loved the Bowbells area. While at Bowbells, Clarence was very active in St. Joseph's Catholic Church serving as an usher and always assisting with any church functions. He was very involved with the Community Theater, the local fire department and Ducks Unlimited. Clarence was a member of the Flasher American Legion Post 69. From 1997 to 2007, Clarence worked for the North Dakota Department of Transportation, working in Hazen and Beach. In 2007, Clarence moved to Bismarck to be near his mother and began working for Ameripride Services. He worked there until his retirement in May 2011. Wherever Clarence lived, he was a social person and enjoyed a good meal and a few refreshments. He loved golfing, bowling, playing darts, playing cards, especially pinochle, the pull tabs and raffle tickets with substantial winnings such as guns, Duck Unlimited pictures, clocks. He was the "King of Stuffed Animals" as his nephew Jason described him. When the nieces and nephews were small children, he gave the largest stuffed animals each Christmas. He enjoyed watching sports, especially the Minnesota Twins and his beloved New York Giants. The Giants 2012 Super Bowl Championship was one of his final highlights. Clarence is survived by his mother, Pauline Erhardt, Bismarck; sister, Lorraine Ron Dressler, Bismarck; brothers, Norman Bonnie Erhardt, Flasher, Marvin Ranette Erhardt, Mandan, and Kevin Norma Heck Erhardt, Bismarck; his nieces and nephews, Lisa Dressler Tim Manz, Blaine, MN, Jason EmaLee Dressler, Susan Dressler Jesse Kalberer, Michelle Dressler Michael Johnson, all of Bismarck, Nikki Corey Hanson and Dustin Debbie Erhardt, both of Mandan, and RaeLynn Erhardt and Kelli Erhardt, both of Fargo; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Alex, Hannah, Christian and Nicholas Manz, Alexis, Gabriel and Nathan Dressler, Conrad, Isabella and Carson Kalberer, Jameson, Harrison, and Maxon Johnson, Jennifer, Kaylee and Wyatt Hanson. He was preceded in death by his father, George; and brother, Bob.
