Daryl Friez

Daryl Bruce Friez, 53, Mandan, died Friday, July 15, 2005 at his home. Services will be held at 1:30 PM Monday, at the Bismarck Baptist Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Spencer Baker officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Bismarck. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 9:00 PM Saturday and 1:00 to 9:00 PM Sunday at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church. Daryl was born on January 14, 1952, to Albert and Opal Friez of Bentley, ND. He grew up and attended high school in Lemmon, SD. On July 28, 1972 he married Wanda Kay Haas in Bismarck, ND. They made their home in Bismarck where they had daughter, Nicole Amy and son, Jeremy Todd. In recent years his family expanded to welcome daughter-in-law, Amber Blasy in 2002, a son-in-law, Jared DeSautel in 2002 and a very adored granddaughter, Liberty Kay Friez in 2004. Daryl worked at Super Valu Warehouse nearly thirty years. On his off time he enjoyed cooking, reading, antique shopping, motorcycling, and relaxing with family and his best friend; his wife Wanda and their dogs, Otis, Charlie, and Elle. He was a hard working, moral and inspiring person with a great sense of humor who will be greatly missed by his loved ones. Daryl is survived by his wife, Wanda Friez of Mandan; his children Nicole Jared DeSautel of Fargo and Jeremy Amber Friez of Mandan; his granddaughter, Liberty Kay Friez; his mother Opal Friez of Bismarck; his brothers, Wayne Friez and his wife Reva of Bentley, ND and Gary Friez and his wife Earleen of Hettinger, ND; his sisters, Beverly Klein and her husband Terry of Bismarck and Cheryl Meier and her husband Larry of Mott, ND; and twenty four nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his mother-in-law and father-in-law Robert and Delores Haas of Stanley, ND and his sisters-in-law, Debbie Cartwright of Michigan, Roxanne Moen of Colorado, Connie Tippe of Indiana, Barbara Webb of Missouri and their husbands. He was preceded in death by his father Albert and his cousin Lane Hochhalter. Two roads diverged in a wood, and I - I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.
