Delvin "D.A." McNalley

Delvin A.“D.A.” McNalley, 79, Mandan, died April 15, 2009. Services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday at First Lutheran Church, Mandan, with Rev. Lee Herberg officiating. Burial will be held at the North Dakota Veteran’s Cemetery, Mandan, with military rites provided by VFW #707 and American Legion #40. Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until 6:00 pm Saturday and from 1:00 pm until 6:00 pm Sunday at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck. A prayer service will be held at 4:00 pm Sunday at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck. Delvin was born April 21, 1929, in Stanley, ND, the son of John and Janice Londen McNalley. He graduated from Stanley High School and went on to attend the University North Dakota of Grand Forks. Delvin enlisted in the Air Force on June 1950, served during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged on September 1, 1953. Following his discharge from the military he drove semi for a brief period of time. He then began his 30 plus year career as an independent landman in the oil fields of western North Dakota and eastern Montana. Delvin married Amy Chunn Stuart on November 22, 1980, in Bismarck, ND. Delvin retired in the late 1980s. Delvin enjoyed visiting with friends and family, get-togethers, and was an avid sports fan; especially home team basketball and boxing. He was a member of First Lutheran Church, Mandan, The Elks, and the Elks Chorus, and the American Legion. He is survived by his wife, Amy, Mandan; three stepchildren, Jill Rosenow, Bismarck, Jacqueline Larry Binstock, Billings, MT, and Burr Linda Stuart, Smithsville, TX; his sister, Janice Grinolds, Erskine, MN; two step grandchildren, Jason Stuart, and James Rosenow; his five nephews, Delaney Nancy Grinolds, Erskine, MN, and their children, Justin, Christina, and Donald, Donald Scott Hanna Grinolds, Tacoma, WA, Shawn Sindhu Grinolds, Bismarck, ND, Kriss Grinolds, Bismarck, ND, and his children, Tyler, Erin and Chaske, and Erik Grinolds, Thief River Falls, MN; his sister-in-law, Eileen McNalley; and his friends, Curt Walters, Bob Gray, and Larry Rosenow. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Dean. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church, Mandan, the Morton Mandan Public Library, or a charity of the donor’s choosing.
