Diane Hofmann

Diane F. Hofmann, 69, Bismarck, died July 30, 2007. Services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Bismarck with Rev. Scott Fredrickson officiating. Burial will be in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Wednesday at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, and continue one hour prior to services at the church. Diane Fay Baehler was born on August 18, 1937, in Seymour, WI, to Walter and Beverly Beckmann Baehler. She grew up in Seymour and following high school graduation attended the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point, with membership in Tau Gamma Beta earning a B.S. in Home Economics in May of 1959. Diane married Lenat Len Hofmann on December 26, 1959, in Seymour. Diane taught home econonmics at Clintonville High School, WI, before choosing to contribute her time towards raising her family. She enjoyed part-time gainful employment during these years with her favorite being a "Lunch Lady" at Belair Jr. High in Bowie, MD. After Diane's children had come of age, she returned to teaching home economics and tutoring at Century High School in Bismarck from where she retired in 1994. Diane lead a fulfilling life in the service of others. As a testament she was an active member in the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Bismarck Naomi Circle, Alter Guild, and Quilters. She enjoyed playing Bridge and spending time with family, particularly with her grandchildren. Cherished memories by her children include a wonderful home, great food, and playing the piano. Much of Diane and Len's spare time together was spent dancing in Bismarck as well as with the Roun-de-Lays group in Green Valley, AZ. Their garage not only served as a storage area for vehicles and equipment but also doubled as a private dance studio. Her most treasured dancing memories were waltzing with Len to "May I Have This Dance?" She put the considerations of others before herself giving comfort and hope to family and friends alike. Diane was truly a blessing to all who had the privilage of her friendship and acquaintance and will be deeply missed by her family and many good friends. She is survived by her son, Lon of St. Paul, MN; her daughter, Robin Bob Weimer of Greeley, CO; her daughter, Debbie Dean Wolf of Bismarck; her grandchildren, Danielle and Drew Wolf and Luke Weimer; and her sisters, Mary Ann Ted Rudie of Shawano, WI, and Pamela Tom Beer of Ft. Meyers, FL. She is preceded in death by her husband, Len Hofmann and parents, Walter and Beverly Baehler. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be sent to Hospice at Medcenter One, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church Quilters, or the Bismarck Emergency Food Pantry.
