Donna Mae Seebart

Donna Mae Seebart, 87, Bismarck died March 14, 2005 in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Jake Kincaid officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Eastgate Funeral Service. Donna was born May 1, 1917, at Streeter, North Dakota, the daughter of William and Evanna Putman Krekow. She graduated from Streeter High School, attended Concordia College and continued her education at Ellendale State College, where she received a Bachelors Degree in Home Economics. She worked in LaMoure and Finley as a teacher and then for the county extension agency until marrying Archie Seebart in January 1948. They lived in Cooperstown, North Dakota, before settling in Bismarck in 1950. Donna had an adventurous and independent spirit. While she was single she traveled throughout the west with four other women in a Ford Model A, and later spent a summer working in Alaska. She treasured her spirituality and was an active member and Deacon of The First Presbyterian Church, where Presbyterian Women in the Church recognized her with an Honorary Life Membership for her Christian service and dedication. During her lifetime Donna was involved with a wide variety of community and social organizations, including Medcenter One Volunteer Services, Homemakers Club, League of Women Voters, Church Circle, Birthday Club, and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was an avid reader, talented seamstress, excellent crafter, along with being a creative cook and baker. Donna treasured being an independent woman and instilled that in her children. Her greatest gift was her love for family and her joy in being a mother. Donna is survived by one daughter, Mary Carole Seebart, Kevin Holfelner of Hancock, NH; two sons, Keith Corrine Seebart of Laramie, WY; and Gregory Mary Seebart of Wheat Ridge, CO; and two grandchildren, Landon and Cassie Seebart of Laramie, WY. Her parents, her husband of 50 years, one brother and one sister preceded her in death. The family requests that memorials be given to the First Presbyterian Church in Bismarck or the Bismarck Public Library.
