Douglas Pearson

Douglas L. Pearson, 71, Wilton, died June 15, 2008, at his home. Services will be held at 11:00 am Friday at Sunne Lutheran Church, Wilton with Rev. Paul Schauer and Rev. Wes Glennen officiating. Burial will be in Sunne Lutheran Cemetery, Wilton. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until 9:00 pm Thursday at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck where a prayer service will begin at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church. Doug was born March 25, 1937 in Bismarck, ND, the son of Erick and Ottilia Pearson. He grew-up on a farm east of Wilton. He married his devoted wife, Cathryn Lipelt on June 23, 1961. Together they raised their three sons on the same farm his father homesteaded. Doug was a brilliant business man and in addition to farming and ranching was involved in a variety of things such as; home building, a mobile home park and operated a billiard franchise. Doug enjoyed a challenge and was always trying new business endeavors. In 2003, Doug retired and moved to Bismarck. He loved spending time on the farm and continued to be very involved in farming with his son, Karry until his death. He enjoyed country western music and loved taking his wife to the Medora Musical and the Host Fest in his red corvette. Doug loved the outdoors and hard work. His sons have many fond memories of fishing and hunting with their dad. Doug was loved by everyone and was a caring friend to everyone he met. He truly had a heart of gold and helped any one in need. He welcomed everyone into his home. His grandchildren were all very special to him. He enjoyed giving them four wheeler rides, showing them the baby calves and joking with them. He built them a tree house, swing set, bookcases and many other things. Doug leaves behind his loving wife of 47 years, Cathy; his oldest son, Douglas Jr. Janet of Bismarck, ND and two twin sons, Karry Debbie of Wilton, ND and Terry Tara of Bismarck, ND; 11 grandchildren, Joshua, Amanda, Jessica, Josiah, Heather, Summer, Autumn, Samantha and Jacob Pearson, Christopher and Ricky Volk and one great-granddaughter, Mariah. He is also survived by, two sisters, Mary Pearson of Bismarck, Helen Marvin Johnson of Wilton, ND; one brother-in-law, John Lambrose of CA and many nieces and nephews. He will be sorely missed by all his family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Erick and Ottilia Pearson; one brother, Ruben; sister-in-law, Augusta “Gussy” Pearson and one sister, Bennevi Lambrose. We are thankful to God for the man he chose to be our husband, father and grandfather and feel so blessed to have had him in our lives. In faith, we release you into our heavenly Fathers arms with prayers and sweet memories.
