Emelia Kreitinger

Emelia Kreitinger, 86, Bismarck, went home peacefully to her Heavenly Father on March 27, 2012, at Medcenter One Hospital, with her children by her side. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Friday, March 30, at Church of Corpus Christi, Bismarck. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, March 30, at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm Thursday, March 29, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a Catholic Daughters Rosary will begin at 7:00 pm. Emelia Duletski Kreitinger was born on March 19, 1926, in rural Stark County, the daughter of John and Mary Krawsoski Duletski. She was raised on the family farm, where she developed her strong work ethic, and attended rural schools near Belfield where she graduated from Belfield High School in 1943. As a child she recalls the importance of faith in God commitment to church in their families life. This was what she and her husband hoped and believed in their lives. Emelia then attended Dickinson State College to prepare for her teaching career. Emelia taught school in Fairfield, N.D., and at Golva for 18 years. She married James A. Kreitinger on June 29, 1948 in Belfield. Alongside her husband, Emelia worked as a relief postal clerk and taught school between raising children. She was later appointed Postmistress at Golva, in 1977 and retired from that position in 1989. Emelia was very active in her church and community, serving as a lector, Eucharistic Minister, and in Caring Hearts Quilting to name a few. She was a member of Catholic Daughters for over 25 years. Emelia was a strong believer in education and supervised students to help them complete their high school education. She belonged to the VFW Auxiliary, the American Legion Auxiliary, and headed the County American Cancer Society and County Library Board for many years. She enjoyed bowling, reading, sewing and square dancing with Jim. As Emelia said, 'The Good Lord has given them many blessings and for that, they are thankful.' She is survived by her son Jerry Jean and their children, JanelleLandon, Jamie, Jerica Alex, Jordan; her son Terry; her son Timothy Diane and their children, Gloria Leon, Angela, Kimberly, Christine, Joseph, James, and Rebecca; her son Mark Lily and their children, Emily and Matthew; her daughter Julie Ron Heidt, and their children, Nathan, Audrey, and Brandon; and her daughter, Dorice Ray Miller, and their son Austin; her sister Helen Harold Odermann; and her brother-in-law, Jack and his wife Stan Kreitinger. Emelia was preceded in death by her husband, James in 2004, her parents; her brother, Casmer; and seven sisters, Lena, Frances, Josephine, Stella, Louise, Mary, and Eva.
