Esther Stelter

Esther Stelter, 85, Bismarck, died March 31, 2006 at a local nursing home. Services will be held at First United Methodist Church, 924 N. 11th St. in Bismarck at 10:30 am Monday, April 3 with Rev. Dale Nabben and Rev. Walter Schott officiating. Visitation will be held from 2 to 9 pm on Sunday, April 2 at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck and one hour prior to the service at the church. Esther Wall was born on June 8, 1920 south of Mercer, to Fred and Emma Jans Wall. She married David Stelter on November 24, 1938 at her childhood home. In 1944 they moved to rural Regan where she was a housewife and helpmate in running their farm. They retired in 1973, after 35 years of farming. They moved to Wilton in 1992 and she continued living in Wilton after David's death in 1994. In 1997, she moved to the Patterson Place in Bismarck. At this time, she still enjoyed doing her variety of arts and crafts. From April 2003 until August 2003, she lived at the Turtle Lake Hospital swing bed unit; and from August 2003 to the present, she lived at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center. She is survived by her children, Lloyd and Marjorie Stelter, Mandan; Dennis and Lorraine Stelter, Everett, Washington; Lucille and Tony Goldade, Bismarck; and Betty and Lyle Lind, Washburn. It was always a joy for her to see her grandchildren, Darian Stelter, Darcy Stelter Bond, Dale Stelter, Jr., Laurie Stelter, Stacey Goldade, Elisa Goldade, Erin Goldade and Steven Lind. She also enjoyed her great-grandchildren: Darren Stelter, Amanda Stelter, Devin Stelter, Alycia Bond, Dylan Stelter, Dustyn Stelter, Tatyanna Bond, Faith Stelter; twelve step-grandchildren; and numerous step-great-grandchildren. She leaves a sister, Pauline Heinle, Wilton and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Esther was preceded in death by her two sons, Delbert and Dale; her parents and three brothers and two sisters. We want to especially thank the staff of the Turtle Lake Hospital and Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center for their compassion and love shown to her on a daily basis. May God bless each one of you. Esther was known for her sense of humor, infectious laugh, and beautiful smile. She will be greatly missed by those who love her.
