Eva Williams

Eva Helen Williams, 92, died peacefully in her daughter’s home, surrounded by her loving family on April 15th, 2010. Services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday at Evangel Assembly of God, Bismarck, with Rev. Wesley Glennen officiating. Burial will be held at Wing City Cemetery, where Eva will be laid to rest along with her husband, Harold, who passed away on January 31, 2010. Visitation will be held starting at 5:00 pm Monday at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, where a prayer service will begin at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Eva was born December 11, 1917 in Bismarck to David and Marie Anderson Trygg. She was reared and educated northeast of Bismarck in Trygg Township, which was named after her father and two of his brothers who homesteaded there. Eva was graduated from McKenzie high school, attended business college in Bismarck, and on June 1, 1938 married Harold Williams in Jamestown, N.D. With a few chickens, Eva and Harold joined brother Rodney in a farming venture northwest of Wing. Eva was a talented homemaker, a gracious hostess, a loving mother and a devoted wife. As an active member of the Regan Assembly of God church and women’s ministries, she practiced in her day to day living her belief in trying to become more Christlike in word and deed. Her deep faith in God led her to write the book “From the Valley to the Mountaintop”, which launched her as a sought after speaker to many women’s organizations. Eva was a charter member of the Richfield homemakers, and a leader of the Wing Clover Girls 4-H club. She established the first liscenced Bed and Breakfast in ND and greeted guests from all over the United States and a few foreign countries. Eva was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. She is survived by : two daughters and one son-in-law, Maysil Malard of Bismarck and Penny Gary Pietila of White bear Lake, MN; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Darrel Mary Lou Williams of Cottage Grove, OR and Sanford Williams of Wing, ND; eleven grandchildren, Chris and Pat Williams, Lisa Darren Donahue, Kim Doug Rausch, Lowell Shannon Malard, Wendy John Wellmann, Laurie and Hannah Pietila, Chad Kristi, Nate Gina, and Seth Alyssa Williams; eleven greatgrandchildren, sister Ruth Hein of Wing, ND, brother David Betty Trygg of Sun City, AZ, and sister-in-law Marlys Trygg of Seattle, WA. She is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews. Eva was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harold, her sister and brother-in-law, Ella and Clarence Olson; and one son-in-law, Harvey Malard. Memorial contributions may be designated to the Regan Assembly of God church or a permanent endowment fund to be set up in the name of Harold and Eva Williams.
