Evretta Etta Plum

Evretta "Etta" Plum, 80, Mandan, died February 7, 2012, at a Bismarck Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Friday, February 10, at Spirit of Life Catholic Church, Mandan, with Rev. Chad Gion officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial, Aberdeen, SD. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm Thursday at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Etta was born November 12, 1931, in Mobridge, SD, the daughter of John M. and Dorothy M. Euneau Stiles. She was raised and educated in Fort Yates, ND, and attended the State School of Science in Wahpeton for two years. Following college, Etta went to work for Social Services in Wahpeton as an office manager. She worked at St. Luke's Hospital in Aberdeen as a medical transcript specialist. Beginning in 1981, she began working for Standard ColorPrint in Morristown, TN, as office manager. She remained there for several years. She married Gordon A. Plum on September 3, 1951, in Fort Yates, ND, making their home in Napoleon, ND. Throughout the years, they lived in various states, North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Ohio, Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee and Arizona. In 1986, they returned to Minnesota and lived there until Gordon's death. Etta moved to Mandan in 1998 and has lived there until her death. Etta enjoyed playing bingo, cards, and reading. She also loved to travel and was blessed to see much of the world. She loved decorating, floral design, and shopping. Her unique sense of style was recognized by all who knew her. Etta is survived by her children, Nancy Lauren Drevlow, Diane Ronny Rader, Bruce Angelia Plum, and Christy Paul Brady; her grandchildren, Stephanie O'Rourke, John Lisa Drevlow, Laura Tony Mitchell, Chad Heather Rader, Beau Rader, Sara Chris Malanowski, Brooke Plum, Christopher Plum, Amanda Brady, and Courtney Brady; her great-grandchildren, Addison O'Rourke and Avery O'Rourke, Jonathan Drevlow, Eli Drevlow, Mikayla Mitchell, Janae Mitchell, Carly Mitchell and Connor Mitchell; her siblings, Marlene Betta Archambault, Diane Claymore, Irene Darrell Bender, Johnelle Martin Opem, Sherri Byron Stiles-Imker, and Debbie Stiles; and her special friend, Leo Vetter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon; her parents; her great-grandson, Carter Gordon Mitchell in 2008; and two brothers-in-law, James "Jim" Archambault and Gernell "Gernie" Claymore. Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association.
