Gloria V Fraase

Gloria V. Fraase, 87, died January 15, 2012, in Bismarck. Services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, January 20, at Lutheran Church of the Cross, 1004 E Highland Acres Rd, Bismarck, with the Revs. Donna Dohrmann and James Sorenson officiating. Burial will be at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 19, at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 East Divide Avenue, Bismarck, and will continue at the church one hour before services. Gloria was born on May 8, 1924, at the Sundet farm southwest of Hickson, North Dakota, the daughter of Grant and Nora Alrick Sundet. She graduated from Moorhead State Teacher's College High School in Moorhead, Minnesota, and attended Interstate Business College. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority. On August 11, 1946, she married Leonell Lee W. Fraase, who was from Buffalo, North Dakota. In 1947, they moved to Grand Forks where Lee attended law school and Gloria worked for the Veterans Administration. Gloria and Lee lived in Tioga, North Dakota, from 1953 to 1963 at which time they moved to Bismarck. Gloria was a constant source of support and companionship for Lee over the years. Gloria's focus in life was her husband and her four children. She was active in numerous church activities at Lutheran Church of the Cross. Gloria was a wonderful friend to those who knew her. She was forever kind, passionate, and caring to those she loved. Gloria is survived by her children, two sons and one daughter-in-law, Paul and Kathleen, Bismarck, and Mark, Alexandria, Virginia; two daughters and one son-in-law, Candyce Fraase, Bismarck, and Cynthia and Joseph Crary, Fargo; four grandsons, John, Fargo, Benjamin, Moorhead, and Thomas Fraase, Bismarck, Joey Crary, Alexandria, Minnesota; one granddaughter, Caroline Lee Crary, Bismarck; one brother, Kenneth Sundet, Fargo; one sister, Bette Simonson, Fargo; and other special relatives. Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Lee; her parents; and her brother, Royal. Memorials may be given to Lutheran Church of the Cross or North Dakota Veterans Cemetery.
