Gordy Solseth

Gordy Solseth, 51, died January 20, 2004. Services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Jeff Tengesdal officiating. Burial will be in the North Dakota Veteran's Cemetery, Mandan, with military rites provided by the VFW Post #1326. Visitation will be from 1-9 PM Saturday and 1-9 PM Sunday at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, where a prayer service will be held at 7 PM. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Gordy was born September 8, 1952 at Cando, ND the son of Kenneth and Mary Hansen Solseth. Gordy was raised and attended school in Cando before entering the United States Navy in February of 1971. He served in the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in February of 1975. Gordy married Sue Argabright on July 21, 1972 at Cando, ND. Following his military service, Gordy and Sue moved to Cando, ND where Gordy was a faithful partner and companion who along with Sue moved to Devils Lake, Minot, Sioux Falls, and Bismarck in 1987. Although Gordy operated his own heating and air conditioning business, his primary concern and desire was to be with and care for his family. He was the dad who went on field trips with his children and was always there at their hockey, piano, and school activities. A caring man, he made sure everyone's boats were docked during inclement weather, put on delicious fish frys, and assisted without hesitation to help others in need. Gordy loved to hunt and fish, but especially enjoyed being with his wife, kids, and granddaughter. Gordy is survived by his wife, Sue, Bismarck; his son, G.T. Becca, Las Vegas, NV; his daughter, Mandi, and her fiance', Nathan, Fargo, ND; his granddaughter, Ashlynne; his mother, Mary Solseth, Cando, ND; two sisters, Patricia Ebensteiner, Cando, ND and Debby Lauseng, Aberdeen, SD; his brother, Jeff Solseth, Cando, ND; three godchildren, Peni Tastad, Melissa Lauseng, and Chelsi Argabright; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an infant son; his father; and one brother. In lieu of flowers memorial may be given to a youth organization of the donor's choice.
