Gregory Ekblad

Gregory J. Ekblad, 55, Bismarck, formerly of Williston, died Saturday, August 9, 2003, at a Bismarck hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday at House of Prayer Lutheran Church in Bismarck with the Rev. David Swonger officiating. A prayer service will be held Monday at 7:00 PM at House of Prayer Lutheran Church. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday at First Lutheran Church in Williston. Greg Ekblad was born on April 15, 1948, in Williston, the son of LeRoy and Jeanette Ekblad. He attended school in Williston and graduated in 1966. He then graduated from North Dakota State University in 1970. He was united in marriage to Patricia Corbett on December 27, 1969, in Williston. Following graduation from college, he took a position as a manager trainee at the Tempo Stores in Idaho Falls, Idaho. In 1973, they moved back to Williston and Greg became a partner with his father in Ekblad, Inc. On December 6, 1973, Michael Gregory was born and on August 15, 1977, Mathew Patrick was born. In 1989, Greg went to work for Offerman & Co. as an independent broker. He moved to Bismarck in June of 1992. He married Joan Biebelheimer on October 22, 1994. He was currently a partner in Warren & Ekblad Financial Services. Greg enjoyed people, horses, and Harleys. He was a born salesman whether it was securities, appliances, or finding the best deal for a good friend. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, hunting and fishing. He recently rekindled his love of horses, shared by Joan and Calli, and loved watching them show. He was an avid Harley Davidson enthusiast and loved the freedom it gave him. He was past member of the Williston Jaycees, the Williston Park Board, a past member of First Lutheran Church and Church Council in Williston, the Williston Elks Lodge, and was a current member of the House of Prayers Lutheran Church in Bismarck. He was a proud member of the Grey Angels Motorcycle Club of Williston. Greg is survived by his wife, Joan and her children, Cody and Calli Heinemeyer; his son, Michael, his wife, Jennifer, and their son, Chance of Williston; his son, Mathew and his fiancÚe, Sherri Marquette of Williston; his mother, Jeannette Ekblad of Bismarck; his brother, John and his wife, Kathy of Williston, and their children, Brad and Jason and his wife, Staci, all of Fargo; and his sister, Jan Warren, her husband, Larry, and their children, Jacob and Brittany, all of Bismarck.
