Helen Leines

Helen M. Leines, 83, Bismarck, died February 10, 2006, at a Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center. Funeral services will be Thursday at 10:30 AM at Church of Corpus Christi in Bismarck, with the Rev. Paul Becker officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Jamestown. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Eastgate Funeral Service in Bismarck where a rosary service will be held at 7:00 PM. Helen M. Ross was born on May 26, 1922, in Milbank, South Dakota, the daughter of William H. and Rose Marie Schultes Ross. She was raised and attended school in Milbank, graduating from Milbank High School. Following graduation, Helen worked as a bank teller. She married Harold Leines on May 1, 1943, in Milbank. Helen and Harold lived in Texas when Harold was in the Army and settled in Jamestown in 1946 to raise a family. From 1973 - 1993, they lived in Missoula, Montana. Harold died in November of 1993. In 1995, Helen moved to Bismarck to be closer to her family that she dearly loved. Helen was a member of Church of Corpus Christi in Bismarck. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Jean and Don Ratts of Montpelier, North Dakota, Ann Ross of North Palm Beach, Florida, Rosemary Olson of Bismarck, and Mary Pat and Steve Wahl of Jamestown; her son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Mary Leines of Duluth, Minnesota; her sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Marvin Fritz of Buckeye, Arizona; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob and Mary Ross of Palos Heights, Illinois, Jerry and Evie Ross of Montevideo, Minnesota, and Nita Ross of Savage, Minnesota; fourteen grandchildren, Lisa Tom Koza, Laurie Jimmy George, Eric Ratts, Daniel Ratts, Kevin Ratts, Shawn Ratts, Renee William Hardy, Thomas Olson, Matthew Leines, Joshua Leines, Todd Wahl, Scott Kathryn Wahl, Lindsey Kevin Vandrovec, and Kara Wahl; ten great-grandchildren, Jack, Casey, Nicholas, Allison, Nathan, Katie, Gavin, Elizabeth, Gabrielle, and Maura; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; her parents, William and Rose Marie Ross; her son-in-law, Jeffery Olson; and her brother, Bill Ross.
