Jerilyn Klungtvedt

Jerilyn Klungtvedt, 62, Bismarck, died October 3, 2006. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday at Faith Lutheran Church, Bismarck with the Rev. Donna Dohrmann officiating. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM Saturday at Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck. Burial will be at the Turtle Lake Cemetery, Turtle Lake, ND. Jerilyn Jeri Ann Klungtvedt was born in Minot, ND, on December 26, 1943 the daughter of Pauline and Emil C. Wagner. She was raised on the family farm north of Turtle Lake and attended rural school through the eight grade. Jeri graduated from Turtle Lake High School and the Professional Business Institute of Minneapolis. She worked for Dr. John E. Berger until her marriage to Ted Klungtvedt on October 22, 1967, in Turtle Lake. While working for Dr. Berger, Jeri served as the ND State Dental Assistants Associated Secretary/Treasurer. She and Ted lived in Turtle Lake where she worked for Hanson Insurance Agency and Borth's Department Store. Ted and Jeri then moved to Fargo where she was employed by the Fargo Clinic. In 1970, they moved to Bismarck. Jeri worked at St. Alexius Medical Center and Mid Dakota Clinic as a medical transcriptionist. In 2001, she took the position of church secretary for Lutheran Church of the Cross as well as doing medical transcription from her home until her retirement in May 2006. Jeri was active in the Faith Lutheran church, serving as Sunday school teacher, church council member, and serving on the Stewardship and Christian Education committees. She was a WELCA officer and served on the WELCA Cluster Board. Jeri also volunteered with Thrivent Financial, St. Alexius Hospice and the Jimmy Carter Habitat for Humanity project in Eagle Butte South Dakota as well as Bismarck/Mandan Habitat for Humanity projects. Jeri is survived by her three daughters, Jacqueline Brett Olson of Mandan, ND, Heather Poppe of Bismarck, ND, and Gwyn Paul Peeples of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; her four grandchildren, Kade and Amanda Olson of Mandan, ND, Nathan Poppe of Bismarck, ND, and Savannah Peeples of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; her sister, Lynn Danny Brekke; and her nieces and nephews, Michael and McKay of Fargo, ND, Sharon Klungtvedt and Cleone Jensen, Stephanie, Jill, Patrick, Roger and Patricia Klungtvedt Hanson, Michelle and Kelly, Steve Judy Klungtvedt and Mallory. Jeri was preceded in death by her husband, Ted and her parents. The family wishes memorials be designated to St. Alexius Hospice or Faith Lutheran Church.
