Jerome "Jerry" Rohrich

Jerome "Jerry" Lee Rohrich, 55, joined his family, friends, and Maker on September 7, 2007. Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Steele, ND, with Rev. Jerome Hunkler officiating. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Steele. Visitation will be held from 3-7 PM on Sunday at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Steele, where an evening prayer service will be held at 7 PM. Jerry was born on August 11, 1952, the son of Valentine and Betty Rohrich in Steele ND. He graduated from Steele High School. After high school, Jerry worked for the power lines and then adventured to Alaska to work on the pipe line. Jerry and Bob started their construction training in Kent, WA. They moved home in 1981 and started Rohrich Construction. In 1984, Jerry joined Char and her three daughters in marriage. They resided in Steele where he worked with his brother in construction, and farmed and ranched with his son, Brent. He took great joy in watching his youngest daughter, Hannah Jo, grow in to the wonderful young lady she has become. Jerry enjoyed coffee time with his friends and attending his children and grandchildren?s activities. Jerry's life was centered around his animals and his farm. His friends made fun of how his cows were like pets coming to him when he called them. Jerry was passionate about hunting conservation, caring for the land and preserving hunting habitat for future generations. He was an active member of Ducks Unlimited and NRA. He also participated in the volunteer fire department several years as chief, Knights of Columbus and RC&D council. Jerry is survived by his wife, Char; his children, Brent Rohrich and Erin Benshoof of Fargo, Hannah Rohrich of Steele, Cheri Peter Stangeland of Fargo, Sonya Lotzer of Fargo, and Lisa Jeff Symens of Steele; his grandchildren, Erin and Alexandra Stangeland, Raelyn and Gracie Lotzer, Nita Two Hearts, and Nate and Elydia Symens; his mother, Betty of Steele; his brothers and sisters, Bob Mary of Steele, Toots Dave Bresset of Plattsburgh, NY, Judy Derrick Black of New York City, NY, Brian Glenda of Steele, and Val Jr. of Melcher, IA, , and; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Bradley.
