Jerry Haman

Jerry P. Haman, 49, Bismarck, passed away unexpectedly on February 14, 2007, at St Alexius Hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 19 at the Church of Corpus Christi, Bismarck, with the Rev. Ed Wehner officiating. A prayer service will be held 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 18, at Parkway Funeral Service, with all friends and family welcome. Family will be greeting visitors starting at 7:00 pm. There will be no public visitation. Jerry was born on January 19, 1958, in Crary, ND, to Bill and Mary Tess Durbin Haman. He graduated from Crary High School in May 1976 and attended two years at the North Dakota State School of Science, where he received a Certificate in Auto Body Repair. On June 19, 1982, Jerry married Beverly Erickson of Warwick, ND. They lived in Williston for one year, then moved to Devils Lake, where they lived and worked for 12 years. In 1995, Jerry and his family moved to Bismarck. Jerry worked primarily in the auto body repair field for 29 years. At the time of his death, Jerry was employed at Duane's Body Shop in Bismarck. Jerry was an active member of the Devils Lake Rural Fire Department for over ten years. He loved being an outdoorsman, especially goose hunting and deer hunting. Jerry enjoyed several sports, but his passion was basketball, and he coached co-ed and girls' basketball teams in Bismarck for seven years at the YMCA and on traveling teams. Mostly, Jerry loved his large, extended family. His pride and joy were his daughters, Breanna and Lindsey. He was also a father, brother, and uncle to many outside of his immediate family. Best friend to many, Jerry will be remembered because of his outgoing, friendly personality and his willingness to help others in any way. In addition to his wife, Bev, and children, Breanna and Lindsey, Jerry leaves his parents, Bill and Tess Haman of Devils Lake, ND; four brothers, Terry Paula Haman of Crary, ND, Tony Deb Haman of Twin Falls, ID, Mike Penny Haman of Lakota, ND, and Ray Renae Haman of Crary, ND; two sisters, Lynn Steve Waldo of Warwick, ND, and Angie John Bachmeier of Williston, ND; three sisters-in-law, Janice Paul Kraft of St. Michael, ND, Shirley Erickson of Warwick, ND, and Sheila Jerry Williams of Walhalla, ND; and two brothers-in-law, Jim Marilee Erickson of Cavalier, ND, and Lee Gerene Erickson of Hillsboro, ND. He will be missed by his 29 nieces and nephews and numerous cousins, aunts, and uncles. Jerry was preceded in death by his grandparents, one brother-in-law, and two nieces.
