John C Jensen

John Jensen, 64, passed away surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer on January 29, 2012. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, February 3, 2012, at 12:00 pm at Church of St. Mary, Bismarck, with Rev. Gene Lindemann officiating. Burial will be in Glencoe Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until 9:00 pm Thursday, February 2, 2012, at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E Divide Ave, Bismarck, where a vigil will begin at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. John was born on March 26, 1947, in Ord, NE, to Earl and Gwyneth Murray Jensen. The family moved to North Dakota when John was 13. He graduated from Mandan High School in 1966. After graduation, he served in the US Army for 4 years. He met and married the love of his life, Jacque Robinson in 1971. Together they raised 3 children in Bismarck. He worked as a salesman for all his life. He was known for being a very knowledgeable, honest, and trustworthy man. John had a love of sailing, fishing, music, and camping at Lake Tschida. He was a great storyteller and loved to reminisce about his fast car and his slow sailboat. He especially loved shore fishing and watching the sunset over the lake with his beloved family. John had a special talent for lovingly teasing all those he met- especially his grandchildren. His love of music and Western movies carried him through tough times. John found comfort and peace in the arms of his family and his "beautiful wife" Jacque. He will always be remembered as a loving and devoted son, husband and father. John is survived by his wife, Jacqueline; his daughters, Christine Nathan Lofberg, Annie Curt McGarvey; and his son Michael Sarah Jensen, all from Bismarck; his mother, Gwyneth Jensen, Mandan; his sisters, Jennifer Frank Miller, Mandan, and Jean Lyle Grenz, Hazelton; and 11 grandchildren, Jacob, Joey, Isaac, and Molly McGarvey, Maddy, Eliza, Grace, and Noah Lofberg, Ben, Will, and Bethany Jensen. He was preceded in death by his father, Earl; his grandparents, Mabel and John Murray, Anna and Nels Jensen, England.
