Ken Masseth

Ken Masseth, 58, Lincoln, died July 10, 2007, surrounded by his family at his home after a two year battle with a brain tumor. He will leave a void in the hearts of all who knew him. Services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday at Church of the Ascension with Rev. Marvin Klemmer officiating. Interment will be held at the ND Veterans Cemetery at a later date. Family will be receiving friends from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm on Friday at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a vigil will be held at 7:00 pm. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Ken was born on February 22, 1949, to Maggie Wolf and Sebastian Masseth of Napoleon. He was born and raised in Bismarck, attending Cathedral Grade School and graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1968. He served in Germany during the Vietnam War. Ken was an avid outdoorsman and took advantage of every hunting or fishing opportunity presented to him until he was no longer allowed to participate. He also enjoyed playing pool and throwing horseshoes. He was a very generous and giving man and would drop whatever he was doing to help others. Ken married Linda Kay Hagge on September 22, 1972. They have three daughters, Tonya, April, and Samantha. Ken and Linda have ten grandchildren. Throughout his life he was involved with Lincoln Jaycees, Lincoln Sportsman?s Club, Lincoln Horseshoe Club, and Dakota Music Pool League. He was also involved with Lincoln Jaycees Youth Softball; Punt, Pass and Kick, and he taught Hunters Safety for several years. Ken retired from IR Bobcat in January 2006 after 31 years of service. Grateful to have shared his life are his wife of almost 35 years, Linda of Lincoln, ND; three daughters, Tonya Travis Stramer of Mandan, ND, April Troy Nogosek of Grand Junction, CO, and Samantha Clinton Peterson of Bismarck, ND; ten grandchildren, Job, Eden, Cassie, and Nathan Stramer, Prescott and Scarlett Nogosek, Keisha and Keenan Schock, and Nicole and Carissa Peterson. He is also survived by his parents, Sebastian and Maggie Masseth of Bismarck, ND; one brother, Myron Joyce Masseth of Mandan, ND; one sister, Sharon Masseth of Bismarck, ND; nephew, Kent Denise Masseth and their son, Brandon; nephew, Kelly Masseth; mother-in-law, Elsie Hagge; two sisters-in-law, Diane Ackerman Dave Hintz of Bismarck, ND, and Patty Kim Howard of Everett, WA; one brother-in-law, Rod Deb Hagge of Everett, WA; niece, Pam Bennet Cress and their children, Charliene Harrison and Bradley and Amber Cress; niece, Andrea Howard; nephew, Roman Hagge; nephew, Dave Harrison and his children, Tyler and Hannah; and nephews, Jake and Zachary Howard. Ken was preceded in death by his father-in-law, David Hagge; and his grandparents, Adam and Philipina Fiest Masseth and Anton and Marina Miller Wolf.
