Laurie Tanner

Laurie Tanner, 61, Mandan, died peacefully at CHI St. Alexius Hospital February 21, 2015, after a battle with cancer. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 25, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Laurie was born May 9, 1953, in Minot, ND, the daughter of Ernest and Greta Knutson. Laurie was raised on the family farm in Kongsberg and attended a one-room school house through the 8th grade. When the school closed, she attended Velva Public school graduating in 1971. She married Charles Butch Trinneer in March 1972. They began their life together in Minot where their first three sons were born. With Butches profession they relocated to several states including Texas, New Jersey, and their fourth son was born in Mississippi. Shortly after the birth of their last child, they moved back to Minot. Laurie had various jobs throughout her life, which generally consisted of office work. She was a whiz with numbers. Laurie moved to Las Vegas, NV, in 2000. She married Michael Tanner in November of 2002. They resided there until 2011, when Laurie wanting to be closer to her children and family, they moved to Mandan. Laurie was diagnosed with cancer in September of 2012, upon that diagnosis she retired and concentrated on family and making lasting memories with them. Laurie is survived by her husband Michael Tanner, Mandan; her children, Bob Heather Trinneer, Shawn Trinneer, Mandan, Corey Jessica Trinneer, Lincoln; daughter-in-law, Leann Tople-Trinneer Jamie, Pierre, SD; stepson, Sean Amanda Tanner, Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren, Krystana Knox, Bismarck, Anastasia Crider, Phoenix AZ, London Trinneer, New Salem, Matthew Basaraba, Alabama, Samantha and Lexi Trinneer, Pierre, SD, Jacob Trinneer, Jordyn Leighton, Lincoln, ND, Sophie Tanner, Las Vegas, NV; great-granddaughter, Layla Hellwig, Bismarck, ND; siblings, Dean Kim Knutson, Mitchell, SD, Gale Knutson, Ward Donna Knutson, Bismarck; along with many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles; and her very dear friend, Gail Jensen, Las Vegas, NV. She was preceded in death by her husband, Butch Trinneer; son, Jamie; parents, Ernest and Greta Knutson; grandparents, Conrad and Inez Grindberg, Edgar and Alice Knutson; brothers, Gary, Boyd, and Neal; three nephews, Casey Knutson, Joshua Kerzman, Jason Kerzman; and brother-in-law, John Kerzman.
