LeRoy Pittsley

LeRoy "Lee" W. Pittsley, 54, Bismarck, died August 20, 2006, at a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 11:30 AM on Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with Rev. Nate Keith officiating. Burial will be at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, with military rites by VFW Post 1326. There will be no visitation, cremation has taken place. Lee was born on April 28, 1952, in Watford City, ND, the son of Glenn W. and Betty Jore Pittsley. He was raised and educated in Watford City. Lee enlisted in the US Army in 1971 and was stationed in Germany; he was honorably discharged in 1973. Lee married Mary Sackman on July 6, 1971, in Watford City. Their son, Randy, was born on May 5, 1973. Lee and his family moved to Bismarck where they have resided since. He worked for Acme Tool Crib for over 25 years as a service tech. Lee lived for hunting and fishing and also enjoyed camping and boating. He taught his son, Randy, and most of his nieces and nephews how to hunt, fish, water ski, and tube. Lee's one-year-old granddaughter, Sydney, was very special to him. Lee is survived by his wife and best friend, Mary Pittsley of Bismarck; his son, Randy and his fiancÚ, Michelle Fetzer of Bismarck; his father, Glenn Pittsley and his wife, Rosalie of Bowman, ND; his granddaughter, Sydney LeaAnn and another on the way; his sisters, Karen Dale Hagen of Arnegard, ND, Ellen Jim Jefferson of Mandan, ND, Louise Dave Arnold of Watford City, ND, and Nancy Dennis Cornwell of Jerome, ID; his brothers, Glen Merly Pittsley of Merced, CA, Donald and Jim Kristy Pittsley all of Watford City, and David Sandee Pittsley of Killdeer, ND; his in-laws, Linda Ronnie Moffit of Lincoln, ND, Lana Dave Sabot, Jake Audrey Sackman, Larry Kathleen all of Bismarck, ND, Roger Tammy Sackman, and Donna Philip all of Florida; and several nieces and nephews that were all very special to Lee. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Pittsley; his sister, Della Norby; his grandparents; his aunts, Caroline Hartman and Phyllis Knecht; his uncles, Robert and Ernest Pittsley; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jacob and Shirley Sackman.
